Politically Motivated Sexual Assaults in Custody Continue Since Conflict.

(LONDON HRW) - JH (a pseudonym) is a survivor of sexual abuse by Sri Lankan security forces while in detention Sri Lankan security forces have been using rape and other forms of sexual violence to torture suspected members or supporters of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

The abuse is center of a new report by Human Rights Watch released today.

Wide Spectrum of Tamil Nadu Leaders Condemn Balachandran`s Murder

The people in Tamil Nadu are in a state of mourning.

(CHENNAI) - Balachandran Prabakaran after he was shot dead Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa Jayaram today blasted the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s Government over the "inhuman act" of alleged cold-blooded killing of slain LTTE Chief Velupillai Prabhakaran’s 12-year-old son Balachandran.

Balachandran’s killing is a "war crime of grave nature and unforgivable," she told reporters in Chennai.

(PARIS) - Sri Lanka's Sarath Fonseka A reputed newspaper in the United Kingdom, “The Independent”, published a disturbing news item and an article on 18 February 2013, under the headlines, ““Handed a snack, and then executed: the last hours of the 12-year-old son of a Tamil Tiger” (Photographs show boy was held before he was killed at close range) and “This is proof, beyond reasonable doubt, of the execution of a child – not a battlefield death”.

The author of this news item is Callum Macrae, director of No Fire Zone: The Killing Fields of Sri Lanka.
