Oregon Falls to Vanderbilt; Plays Xavier at Noon

(NASHVILLE, Tenn.) - University of Oregon Extending a regular-season trend into the postseason, the Vanderbilt baseball team continues to capitalize on its home field advantage — even when the Commodores are the “visiting” team.

Propelled by the strong pitching of Carson Fulmer, the top-seeded Commodores rolled to a 7-2 victory over No. 2-seeded Oregon on Saturday night in the winner’s bracket semifinals of the Nashville Regional before a crowd of 2,841 at Hawkins Field.

NASCAR: Keselowski Wins Dover Pole in Record Time

(DOVER, Del. ) - NASCAR racing It’s official -- when fans come out Dover International Speedway on Sunday, June 1 for the “FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks” NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, they’ll be seeing the fastest cars ever to go around the Monster Mile.

A total of 24 cars turned laps that were faster than the qualifying record of 161.849 mph set by Dale Earnhardt Jr. last fall.

Oregon Football TV Schedule Set

Rose Bowl champion Michigan State comes to Autzen Stadium on Sept. 6 for Oregon's premier nonconference game of the 2014 slate.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Kickoff times for Oregon's nonconference football games this season will feature something for everyone.

The Ducks will open the 2014 season as a projected top-five team against South Dakota in Autzen Stadium on Aug. 30. That first chance to see Heisman Trophy candidate Marcus Mariota and his UO teammates will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT, and will be televised by Pac-12 Networks.

Galen Rupp Breaks American 10K Record During The Prefontaine Classic

Rupp, the 2012 Olympic silver medalist, beat by more than a minute the time from his final 10,000 at Oregon, 27:52.53 in 2009.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Five-time NCAA champion and 14-time all-American Galen Rupp returned to Hayward Field in rousing fashion Friday night, breaking his own American record in the 10,000 meters during the Prefontaine Classic.

Running a controlled pace before exploding through the final kilometer, Rupp broke the tape in 26 minutes, 44.36 seconds. He beat his previous record of 26:48.00 by nearly four seconds.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Andrew Moore fanned a career-high 14 in eight innings and Dylan Davis’ solo homer in the seventh inning broke a 1-1 tie as top-seeded Oregon State edged North Dakota State 2-1 on Friday in its opening game at the NCAA Corvallis Regional at Goss Stadium.

#1 Seed Oregon Shutout by #5 Seed Florida

A day after tossing a one-hit shutout in a win against Florida State, Oregon starter Cheridan Hawkins (34-5) took the loss against Florida after allowing four runs on five hits in 3 1/3 innings.

(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) - Florida pitcher Hannah Rogers tossed a three-hit shutout and the No. 1 seed Oregon softball team fell to No. 5 seed Florida, 4-0, on Friday at the Women's College World Series.

With the loss, the Ducks (55-8-1) face an elimination game Saturday at 6:30 p.m. PT on ESPN. Oregon will face the winner of another elimination game earlier in the day, between No. 6 Louisiana-Lafayette and No. 7 Oklahoma.

Oregon Rocks Clemson 18-1 in Regional Opener

Oregon starter Tommy Thorpe (11-4) earned the win, working seven innings of one-run ball and limiting Clemson to five hits.

(NASHVILLE, Calif.) - Pounding out a season-high 20 hits - including two homers, three triples and four doubles - the No. 2 seed Oregon Ducks rolled to an 18-1 win over No. 3 seeded Clemson on Friday afternoon in the opening game of the Nashville Regional at Hawkins Field.


Oregon’s Tyler Baumgartner finished 3-for-6 with a homer, two RBIs and three runs scored in Friday’s win, and Shaun Chase was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer. Nick Catalano added three hits and drove in three runs.

NBA: Spurs Roll Over Thunder; Take 3-2 Series Lead

Game 6 is Saturday in Oklahoma City.

(SAN ANTONIO, Tex. ) - The San Antonio Spurs can clinch a return to the NBA Finals, after taking a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference Finals Thursday night after Tim Duncan had 22 points and 12 rebounds in a 117-89 rout of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

NBA MVP Kevin Durant scored 25 points for the Thunder, but Russell Westbrook struggled with 21 points and seven assists after having a huge Game 4 with 40 points and 10 assists.

(OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.) - In a duel with national player of the year, Florida State pitcher Lacey Waldrup, Oregon lefthander Cheridan Hawkins and the Ducks came out on top, with a 3-0 win in their first game of the Women’s College World Series.

The top-ranked Ducks (55-7-1), who set a program record for victories in a season, advanced to face Florida on Friday (4 p.m. PT, ESPN2).

Oregon State Baseball Trio Earn All-American Honors

Tickets for the Corvallis Regional are sold out. However, any tickets returned by participating teams will be made available on a single-game basis each day.

(TUCSON, Ariz) - Michael Conforto has been making history since he stepped on the Oregon State campus prior to the 2012 season. On Thursday, he made another dent in the record books.

The Oregon State junior became the first Beaver to earn All-American honors in three different seasons when Collegiate Baseball named him to its first team. Joining him on the first team are left-handed pitchers Ben Wetzler and Jace Fry.
