Man Injured in North Salem Drive-by Shooting

The victim's home was struck several times, but the exact number of shots or type(s) of guns used is not known at this time.

(SALEM) - Bikes at scene of drive-by shooting in Salem Marion County Deputies were called to the 4000 block of Santiam Street NE in Salem at 10:44pm, Monday, on the report of several shots being fired.

Two Marion County units arrived in the area within 10 minutes. Their preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was an apparent drive-by shooting at a specific address.

Oregon Mother of Two Shot and Killed by Estranged Husband

Motorcycle club disavows behavior of member.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Jessie Cavett Jessie Cavett grew up in Salem. She was a 27-year old mother of two, and worked at the Bella Institute School of Cosmetology in Portland as an instructor. She loved spending time with her mother, her daughters, and making the most of every day.

Yesterday, her estranged husband came into her home and shot her, point blank, in front of her two little girls. She died at the hospital late last night. Cavett left his 5-year old step daughter, Peyton, at the scene but took 2-year old Paige with him when he fled. Peyton was able to call one of her mother's friends for help, who then called 9-1-1.

Woman Who Allegedly Crashed Into Barricade Gunned Down by Capitol Police With Baby in Car

No weapon was found, the woman allegedly tried to crash into a security barrier.

(WASHINGTON DC) - Capitol shooting An incident involving a woman with a baby in a car who allegedly tried to drive into a security barrier ended in a deadly police shooting today. Capitol Police say the woman, still unidentified, tried to drive through a barricade, and then sped away.

Capitol Police say the woman crashed into a police vehicle during the chase, injuring one officer, who was airlifted from the scene by a medical helicopter.

Navy Yard Mass Shooting: Deja` Vu All Over Again

Already victims' relatives and relatives of other mass shootings are again calling for federal gun control legislation.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - Navy Yard Shooting On September 16, 2013, Aaron Alexis, a former Navy reservist, killed 13 people at the Washington, D.C. Navy Yard. Alexis was shot to death by police. Already there are renewed calls for gun control legislation, which will fall on deaf ears.

The Navy Yard killings is the latest mass shooting in the United States.

Salem Shooting Victim Dies

The victim of the Saturday morning shooting at the Londonaire Apartments, 955 Concord St NE, died Saturday evening at Salem Hospital

(SALEM, Ore.) - Shooting investigation The victim of the Saturday morning shooting at the Londonaire Apartments, 955 Concord St NE, died Saturday evening at Salem Hospital.

He has been identified as 23 year old Charlie Rivera of Woodburn. Next of kin have been identified. An autopsy is planned for Monday morning.

(LOS ANGELES) - Trayvon Martin Race alone is not enough to explain the outcome of the Martin Zimmerman trial. We need also to understand the plight of minority groups qua groups if we are to prevent future tragic killings.

If the notion of human rights is to be all meaningful, it is imperative both that we help African-Americans achieve parity with other groups, and also that we safeguard the existence and identity of minority groups.
