Man Injured in North Salem Drive-by Shooting

(SALEM) - Marion County Deputies were called to the 4000 block of Santiam Street NE in Salem at 10:44pm, Monday, on the report of several shots being fired.

Two Marion County units arrived in the area within 10 minutes. Their preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was an apparent drive-by shooting at a specific address. One of the bullets penetrated the home and struck a 38-year old man in the hand. He was transported to the Salem Hospital for treatment. The victim's name is being withheld at this time.

We have no description of the suspect(s) but witnesses reported a dark colored SUV was possibly involved. Detectives are investigating to determine the possible motive.
