Why Margaret Hamburg, MD should be fired as Commissioner of the FDA!

The epidemic is getting worse and still the drugs keep coming.

(MYRTLE BEACH, SC) - Some interesting events occurred this past week in the prescription opioid/heroin epidemic paralyzing the U.S. and Canada. Dr. Hamburg, Bob A. Rappaport, MD and Douglas Throckmorton, MD need to be relieved of their duties at the FDA immediately. It is not enough to ask for the resignations of these individuals who have been accomplices in the prescription opioid/heroin deaths and addictions.

Let me lay out some facts that indicate why we are losing a generation of young people to the opioid/heroin epidemic in the U.S. and Canada while the FDA has had its eyes wide shut.

9-Year Old Girl Dies in Lincoln City When Sand Collapses

The child was buried by the sand for about five minutes.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - A 9-year-old girl who was pulled from the sand after it apparently collapsed on her Friday has died, according to the North Lincoln Fire & Rescue District No. 1. She died at the hospital.

Police officers helped get the girl out of a hole that she was buried in, according to Lt. Jerry Palmer, of the Lincoln City Police Department. He said when they got to her she was unconscious and not breathing.

Two Injured in Shooting Outside Salem Pizza Restaurant

One employee said she heard the shots along with her manager, and looked outside and saw people diving under cars, parents picking-up small children, and cars speeding out of the area.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Two people were hit by gunfire and taken to Salem Hospital after multiple shots rang out after an altercation Wednesday night in northeast Salem.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Marion County Sheriff's Deputies and Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday night in northeast Salem in the parking lot of the Rock Wood Fired Pizza and Spirits restaurant.

Salem-News.com is on scene, and a waitress at the restaurant, located at 3610 Center St NE, said an individual was shot in their parking lot on the south side of the building, and made their way and fell near a home at 620 36th Ave. NE.

Portland Teen Dead After Shooting in SE Portland

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into Tuesday night's shooting that left one man dead in Southeast Portland.

The victim has been preliminarily identified as a 19-year-old male. Detectives have learned that several neighborhood residents heard several gunshots prior to the discovery of the victim.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - As Salem-News.com was first to report, police in Woodburn, Oregon are investigating what appears to be an accidental shooting Sunday evening.

A Woodburn police spokesman tells Salem-News.com that a 24-year-old male was shot by a handgun in the back by a passenger in the back seat of a vehicle while they were parked at the Woodburn Safeway store.

Two Woodburn Men Arrested in Drive-By Shooting Incident

Both suspects were arrested without incident.

(WOODBURN, Ore. ) - Woodburn police officers have arrested two men in connection with a June 23 drive by shooting near the intersection of Hardcastle Avenue and Gatch Street.

The victims provided police with the direction the vehicle headed after the shooting and a possible residence of the shooting suspects.
