Salem Man Seriously Injured in Crash Near Enchanted Forest Theme Park

No one else was injured in the crash according to Oregon State Police.

(TURNER, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon Crash Oregon State Police are continuing the investigation into Monday afternoon's three-vehicle traffic crash that resulted in serious injury to one person along Enchanted Way SE near the entrance to the Enchanted Forest theme park in Turner, Ore.

Oregon State Police spokesman Lt. Gregg Hastings says a Mitsubishi turned left toward an entrance to an RV park when it pulled into the path of a northbound 1994 Toyota pickup.

Motorcyclists Seriously Injured in Crash with Pizza Delivery Vehicle

Deputies quick actions may have just saved the motorcyclist's life.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Motorcycle Crash A motorcyclist collided with a pizza delivery vehicle Monday afternoon in NE Salem.

Marion County Sheriff's spokesman Sergeant Chris Baldridge says deputies and firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after the accident at the intersection of Silverton Road near Lardon Road.

Salem Teen Killed in Crash Where Car Ended Up in Molalla River

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

(MOLALLA, Ore. ) - Marina Toran of Salem The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office tells Salem-News.com that a Salem teen was one of the people killed in a traffic crash where the vehicle they were in went off the road, went down a steep 100 foot embankment and ended up in the Molalla River.

19-year-old Marina Toran of Salem was a passenger in the vehicle, and 19-year-old Alexandra Alexandrova Samoilov of Canby was the driver, who was also killed in the crash.

Salem Police Recover Body of Teen from Mill Creek

(SALEM, Ore. ) - MILL CREEK Salem Oregon Salem Police have confirmed to Salem-News.com that they have recovered the body of a 16-year-old boy who drowned while swimming Sunday in Mill Creek in SE Salem.

Police have not said where the body was exactly found, or the identity of the victim. The boy was last seen jumping into the creek near the Lakeside Community Mobile Home Park, located at the 3200 block of Turner Rd. SE around 9:00 p.m. Police said the boy jumped into the water and never resurfaced. He was not wearing a life jacket.

As Salem-News.com was first to report Sunday night, Salem Police, Salem Firefighters, and a rescue dive team from the Newberg Fire Department spent the overnight hours searching Mill Creek in SE Salem for the teenage boy.

Search to Resume for Teen Presumed Drowned in Mill Creek

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Mill Creek Rescue As Salem-News.com was first to report Sunday night, Salem Police, Salem Firefighters, and a rescue dive team from the Newberg Fire Department spent the overnight hours searching Mill Creek in SE Salem for a teenage boy who is presumed drowned.

Salem Police and firefighters were called out to Lakeside Community Mobile Home Park, located at the 3200 block of Turner Rd. SE around 9:00 p.m. Police said the boy jumped into the water and never resurfaced. Police said the water depth of Mill Creek ranges from areas of 2-3 feet to pools that are 10-15 feet deep.

UPDATE 10:55: Salem Police have recovered the boys body from Mill Creek.

UPDATE #3: Rescue Crews to Resume Search for Teen Presumed Drowned in Salem Creek

(SALEM, Ore. ) - BREAKING NEWS Salem Firefighters and Salem Police are conducting a search of Mill Creek and other waterways in SE Salem in and around Cascade Gateway Park for a child that has been reported missing.

A rescue boat has been brought in to search for what Salem-News.com has learned is a male teenager. Salem-News.com in on scene, and an active search for the child is being conducted in Mill Creek upstream and at Walter Wirth Lake inside the park. Rescue crews are also searching ditches and other grassy areas in and around the park.

UPDATE 11:14 p.m.: The Newberg Fire Department dive team has been called into assist and evaluate the situation.

UPDATE: 12:30 a.m.: Search crews have called off the search for the night. Units will remain in the area in case something is discovered overnight. Salem-News.com will have more information in the morning.

UPDATE: 8:00 a.m.: Search and Rescue crews will be back out searching for a 16-year-old boy who they believed drowned Sunday night while swimming in Mill Creek.

Family Fest at Riverfront Park a Huge Success

Maybe the most anticipated part of the festival was the landing at 11:00 a.m. of a REACH medical helicopter out of Corvallis.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Family Fest On Saturday, thousands of families took part in the 5th annual Family Building Blocks Family Fest at Salem's Riverfront Park.

Children and their parents learned about such things as why it is important to keep trash and other debris out of city sewer lines, and the effect those things can have on fish swimming in area waterways.

Another big hit this year was the return of an old Salem classic: Bob's Hamburgers.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Hoopla 2014 Thousands of basketball players, their families, and just fans of the game, turned out Saturday for the 16th annual Oregon National Guard 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Salem.

The streets surrounding the Oregon State Capitol grounds were transformed into basketball courts, where players from every age group and ability, showed off their best Michael Jordan, LeBron James, or Larry Bird basketball skills.
