"Empiric medicine – medicine from plants – has been with us throughout history and hemp is the queen of all empiric healers." ~Rick Simpson
(EUROPE) -
Rick Simpson's name is synonymous with healing hemp oil, best known as RSO. Here he addresses many questions on how to produce and use the cannabis product, standing by the oil that has cost him his freedom to return to Canada.
Canadian authorities have still not laid charges ten days after the police action against Rick Simpson.
(SALEM, Ore.) -
A man from Athol, Nova Scotia, Canada caused a stir around the world about five years ago, when he made the shocking claim to have cured cancer. As unbelievable as that sounds, there is viable evidence to support his claim.
Rick Simpson is known globally in the cannabis community, but the general public has been slow in receiving his whole story.
Oregon NORML launches the new resource under the guidelines of the Oregon Medical Marijuana Act.
(PORTLAND, Ore.) -
The hippest joint in town, Rumpspankers, is Oregon NORML's Cannabis Café set to kick off next Friday (the 13th) at exactly 4:20 p.m.
The special cafe for members only is an innovative gathering place for the medical cannabis community, brought to fruition by Oregon NORML, the National Organization for Reform of Marijuana Laws.
Madeline Martinez, Executive Director of Oregon NORML, says this cafe will fill a void that so many patients feel in their lives.
Research into what CBD can do is still all but forbidden. Cannabis prohibition, based on the twisted racism and greed of long-dead rich men, is still going strong.
(NORTHERN, Calif.) -
Just before I started this article, I ran a quick news search on MRSA, just to see if there had been a story posted on it in the last week or so.
To my utter surprise, there were a half-dozen articles for today alone! MRSA may not be in the headlines at the moment, but it is still very much with us.
Part 2 in Storm Crow's look at the little known but highly effective medical ingredients in cannabis.
(NORTHERN Calif.) -
There is a lot more to cannabis than just THC. Although the press and science have focused on THC because of its effects on the brain, the other cannabinoids are potent medicines in their own right.
Studies reveal that CBD, a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, may affect cancer cells of many types. Breast cancer, leukemia and glioma (a rather nasty brain cancer) are all slowed, or even killed by CBD.
Part 1- CBD and ALS
(NORTHERN Calif.) -
Everyone knows about THC- it's the chemical in Cannabis that gets you high, and has a number of documented medical uses. However, because it makes you feel "much too good", many politicians and some doctors are against it.
But there is more to Cannabis than plain old "get you high as a kite" THC. There are hundreds of chemicals in natural Cannabis. CBD, cannabidiol, is one of them.
Scientific studies report facts. Forget the all the urban myths and rumors, and make up your own mind using facts. Cannabis is medicine! Educate yourself!

I am a well-respected teacher's aide in my 60s. I start my day with 8th grade math. I quilt, paint, sculpt and am an avid genealogist. I enjoy posting on several websites. My husband is disabled and on SSI. We live in a tiny rural town in California with our two adult sons. Our lives are filled with computers and books. We are all compulsive educators- a family of quiet, intellectual geeks.
Recently a long-distance patient from Australia sent me a list of the diseases for which marijuana was useful with the website addresses of the references. Here is Granny Storm Crow’s list.
(MOLALLA, Ore.) -
When the State of Oregon first legalized Medical Marijuana I disbelieved and was astonished at the diverse medical conditions that State DHS said were acceptable conditions for a permit to use: Cancer, Glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s, Cachexia/Anorexia, Severe pain, Severe nausea, Seizures and Muscle spasms.
There was NO medicine effective for all these. I deduced that officials at the DHS were into the evidence lockers someplace and found some GOOD stuff.
