Portland Fire and Rescue has responded to 4 other house fires since the early morning fire at SE 81st and Taylor. 3 of the 4 fires are related to the cold weather, according to the agency's spokesman, Lt. Dave Centers.

Crews responded to a residential fire at 306 SE 79th Avenue at 5:14 a.m. When fire crews arrived at 5:17 a.m., they found smoke coming from the house. All occupants were out of the house, according to Lt. Allen Oswalt with Portland Fire and Rescue.

Crews responded to an apartment fire at 1434 SW Morrison at 3:29 p.m. Friday. When fire crews arrived at 3:31 p.m., they found dark smoke coming from a third story apartment window, according to Lt. Rich Tyler with Portland Fire & Rescue.
