Plan calls for landscape planning and mitigating the impacts of energy development
(WASHINGTON DC) -
The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) announced a new strategy to avoid and mitigate the impact of energy projects on federal lands that should benefit imperiled species such as the Greater Sage-Grouse.
The “Strategy for Improving the Mitigation Policies and Practices of the Department of the Interior” stems from Secretarial Order Number 3330 issued by DOI Secretary Jewell in October 2013, which seeks to shift from project-by-project mitigation to landscape-level planning.
Op-ed on Taxes, Federal Budget, Nuclear Weapons, Megadeath, Priorities, Moral Ghoice
(PORTLAND) -
April 15th, Tax Day, our nation funds our national budget. On this day we fund the nation’s business and provide a proclamation to the world of the U.S. priorities for the next year. Ultimately, because they reveal our choices, budgets are moral documents and are supposed to represent the people’s priorities.
What are those priorities? Surveys show them to be education, economic security, environmental protection, healthcare, climate change, peace and security.
Professor Chomsky, as a teacher of US foreign policy and expert in political theories behind statecraft, you cannot be unaware that echoing of the core lies of the state while critiquing its effects, is explained by political science most perceptively.

Hello. I am writing this open letter to you both as your former student at MIT who got at least some of his inspiration to stand up to the narratives of power from your considerable teachings, and on account of your being a public intellectual influencing public opinion worldwide and therefore also accountable to the public for your opinions.
I have made the following unpleasant observations in my article and which I continue in this letter. I would like to ask for your response.
We as a Nation are now on our knees in confusion and mistrust. We have been beaten down by the very political structure that we created.
(LAS CRUCES, NM) -
Yes. I used the term, "Puppet President" and will not retract.
In my opinion. Our President and his administration, have demonstrated their weaknesses and lack of strength.... Our President is not strong... He is not a leader...He can't think on his feet and has demonstrated to the American people that he cannot rally the troops or the citizens behind him.
Zambada-Niebla remains in U.S. custody and no sentencing date has been set.
(CHICAGO) -
A high-level member of the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico pleaded guilty a year ago to participating in a vast narcotics trafficking conspiracy and is cooperating with the United States, federal law enforcement officials announced.
A written plea agreement with the defendant, Jesus Vicente Zambada-Niebla, was made public today in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
"I don't mean any harm, I'm just recording your brutality." - Rancher protesting violence from federal agents
(LAS VEGAS) -
Chanting "Get out of our state, get out of our state," protestors gathered to raise a voice against the BLM's seizure of cattle at Bundy Ranch in Nevada, but the feds did not leave before several activists were tased and attacked by federal agents and their dogs.
The officers, lined up with their dogs and weapons, looked a little like German Nazi soldiers in 1939, as they too largely relied on fierce dogs to attack and intimidate the population into obedience.

Every year at the NAB convention in Las Vegas, there are hot technology items that seem to attract everybody’s attention—and this April, it’s the year of the drones!
It was hard to get near the demos at exhibitor’s booths, as these unmanned craft were flown up and around cages that had been set up. The pictures displayed on the hi-def monitors were truly amazing and it was so clear the time has come for us to be allowed to use drones to gather news!
