PAKISTAN: Death Conviction for Blasphemy Overturned

Younis Masih is still in jail awaiting justice.

(LAHORE, Pakistan) - Younis Masih Younis Masih’s appeal against a death sentence and fine of Rs.100,000 under Pakistan's blasphemy law has been accepted.

Mr Masih was ordered to be released after he was declared innocent by the DB (Double Bench) of the Honorable Justice Khaja Amtiaz Ahmed and the Honorable Justice Mr. Khalid Mehmood Khan in the Lahore High Court.

Pakistan Says Afghanistan `Overreacts` to Cross-Border Shelling

Apex Court Accepts Malik Ummad`s Application to Re-Open Rimsha`s Case

The Islamabad High Court previously dropped all charges.

(ISLAMABAD) - Rimsha Masih The Supreme Court of Pakistan accepted the plea of Rimsha’s accuser to seek to re-open her case. She is the Christian girl who was accused of blasphemy that had her case dismissed, or so we thought.

Earlier, on 16th January 2013, when the Supreme Court (SC) dismissed a final appeal in the case against Rimsha Masih, it effectively ended all legal proceedings on the issue.

They also began publishing a magazine called ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ that was highly critical of the Pakistani military’s role in the former East Pakistan.

According to the pastor the FIR has not been registered yet and his church management is looking into the matter.

(ISLAMABAD) - Naeem Bhadhar being attacked On March 16, 2013, a local English daily paper, “Daily Times, Islamabad” wrote about the Christian pastor who was being beaten by some fundamentalists, when was going back to his home in the late evening.

Pastor Naeem Bhadhar, a Presbyterian missionary living in Kalaswala village on Pasroor Road, district Sialkot, drew the wrath of local radical Muslims over arranging a protest rally.

Rimsha Case is Again in the Apex Court

Malik Ummad, Rimsha’s accuser sought to re-open her case again.

(ISLAMABAD) - Rimsha being ferried from a court hearing. It was January 16, 2013, when the Supreme Court of Pakistan dismissed a final appeal in against Rimsha in her blasphemy case, effectively ending all legal proceedings on the issue.

But today again, her council Abdul Hameed Rana told me on telephone that Rimsha’s complainant has filed an application in the apex court to review the decision of the Islamabad High Court.
