(ISLAMABAD) - It was January 16, 2013, when the Supreme Court of Pakistan dismissed a final appeal in against Rimsha in her blasphemy case, effectively ending all legal proceedings on the issue.

But today again, her council Abdul Hameed Rana told me on telephone that Rimsha’s complainant has filed an application in the apex court to review the decision of the Islamabad High Court.

According to the sources, Malik Ummad, Rimsha’s accuser, sought to re-open Rimsha’s case through his lawyer who filed an appeal against the lower court’s acquittal. Prosecutors had tried to reopen the case to get the Christian girl convicted.

The bench designated for a final decision included the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, the honorable Iftikhtar Muhammad Chaudhary.

Justices Sh. Azmat Saeed and Justice Gulzar Ahmad will hear the case tomorrow on Friday, 22nd March, 2013.

It is not decided yet who will represent Rimsha in the apex court tomorrow.
