Salem Man Killed in Crash With Garbage Truck

Serious crash backed up traffic throughout the evening

(SALEM, Ore.) - fatal crash A two vehicle crash claimed the life of one man and sent another to the hospital Monday afternoon. Salem Police responded to the intersection of Mission St SE and 25th St SE at 1:56 p.m.

Arriving officers located two vehicles with heavy damage in the intersection. 26-year old Landon David Oliverson, from Salem, was the driver of one of the involved vehicles, a dark colored Jeep SUV. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene.

Oregon DMV Stops Accepting WA Dismantler Documents

Oregon will no longer accept Washington dismantler bill of sale instead of vehicle title

(SALEM, Ore.) - wrecking yard Oregon DMV will reject applications submitted by mail with a dismantler’s bill of sale if they are postmarked Oct. 21 or later.

Washington does not issue salvage titles. In Washington, the legal owner of a totaled vehicle, or the insurance company, must surrender the title within 15 days of a vehicle’s destruction or settlement of its status as totaled. The vehicle may be subsequently sold with a notarized bill of sale – typically for dismantling. However, dismantlers’ bills of sale are not state-issued and are not secure documents.

Petition to Recall Governor Brown Lacks Necessary Signatures

No submission was received from the Oregon Republican Party.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon State Fair At approximately 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, Michael Cross, Chief Sponsor of the “Flush Down Kate Brown” petition to recall Governor Brown delivered 9 boxes of petitions to the Oregon Secretary of State's office, together with a Petition Submission form SEL 339, attesting to a “Completed Petition Submission” "estimating 290,000" signatures.

However, the submission fell short of the 280,050 signatures necessary to trigger a recall vote.

Portland Area Guard Soldiers to Mobilize for Federal Deployment

The mobilization ceremony is Saturday, Sept 28th, beginning at 10 am.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon National Guard Task Force Arrow, the group of more than 450 Soldiers is one of several units that the Oregon Army National Guard’s 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team is scheduled to deploy this fall and winter.

In all, the 41st is scheduled to deploy more than 1,400 service members to five different countries.

Bay City Man Killed in Hwy 101 Crash

The second car's driver and passenger were not injured.

(TILLAMOOK COUNTY, Ore.) - fatal crash Friday night, September 20, 2019 at about 9:16, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near mile post 62.

A 1992 Chevrolet C1500 was southbound when it crossed into the northbound lane and collided with a 2017 Ford U-Haul truck.
