LifeFlight Responds to Crash Near McMinnville

Highway conditions were reported as wet with light rain falling.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Photo of crash scene near McMinnville, Oregon, 4-22-08 Oregon State Police Three people were injured, including two who were taken by LifeFlight with serious injuries, in a three vehicle collision Tuesday morning at the intersection of Highway 18 and SE Lafayette Highway east of McMinnville.

At 10:25 AM, a 1996 Mercury four-door sedan driven by 19-year old Laney Stephens of Independence, was stopped on SE Lafayette Highway waiting to cross Highway 18 from south to north, when it proceeded into the intersection and was broadsided.

Five Die in High Speed Crash Near Hopewell, Oregon

Two victims were transported via Lifeflight helicopter to Portland-area hospitals.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Fatal crash on Oregon Highway 221 3-25-08 Sirens wailed in Yamhill County today after a Toyota left the roadway near the Wheatland Ferry on Highway 221 at 11:30 AM, the crash ultimately killing five people in the car, two adults and three children.

Life Flight Evacuates Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle in McMinnville

A person in a wheelchair was struck while in a crosswalk.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Traffic in the city of McMinnville came to a stop today after a vehicle versus pedestrian crash that happened at 2:45 PM on Highway 99W at McDaniel Lane.

Officer Steve McCartney with McMinnville Police says the unfortunate crash involved a man in a wheelchair being struck by a Chevrolet pick-up. The man who was struck is 70-year old James Edward Jones of McMinnville, McCartney said.

Missing Person in Tillamook County Located

A missing person is located after an intense search.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon Civil Air Patrol aircraft The Tillamook County Sheriff is reporting that the 45-year old man who was reported missing last night, and was the object of an intensive search today, has been found.

Oregon US Civil Air Patrol aircraft involved in the search have secured from their search operations and are returning to their respective bases in Salem and Brookings.

Author, Former Linfield Professor Dr. John Day Named PriceCatcher.com Person of the Year

Famed Aviator Mary Feik To Highlight Women In Aviation Month

Aircraft and restoration specialist highlights "Women in Aviation" Month.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Mary Feik Mary Feik, recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal and a Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol, will speak at Evergreen Aviaition Museum in McMinnville on March 1st.

After overhauling her first automobile engine at age 13 and later aircraft engines at 18 years of age, Mary taught aircraft maintenance to crew chiefs and mechanics for the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942.

Oregon College`s Landmark Oak Tree Toppled

Howard Leichter, professor of political science, heard the tree fall from his office in Pioneer Hall, located 50 feet from the tree.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore. ) - linfield oak tree Linfield College's Old Oak tree, one of the most recognized landmarks on campus, crashed to the ground yesterday.

The Oregon White Oak tree, estimated to be some 250 years old, toppled toward the Linfield Oak Grove, burying the senior bench in the soggy ground. No one was injured and the concrete bench appears undamaged.
