McMinnville Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography

The man was arrested on ten counts of Encouraging Child Sex Abuse in the second degree.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - 50-year old Peter O'Hara, of McMinnville McMinnville Police say they received information that a McMinnville resident named Peter O'Hara, of McMinnville was in possession of child pornography.

McMinnville Police Captain Rob Edgell says that based on that information, officers began an investigation and found numerous child pornography photographs downloaded on Mr. O'Hara's laptop computer.

Police: Suspect Flees Traffic Stop‏ in McMinnville

Tracy Duncan was treated and released at the scene by Sheridan Medics for injuries sustained as a result of the crash. William Duncan is still at large.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - William James Duncan and Tracy Ann Duncan McMinnville Officers say a traffic stop early Sunday morning at 1:50 a.m. led to a pursuit and injury crash before it was over.

Captain Dennis Marks with McMinnville Police say the incident began when an officer attempted to stop a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix on SE Davis near Booth Bend Road. The driver, 38-year old William James Duncan, drove off from the scene after being identified by the officer, he said.

Pedestrian in Motorized Wheelchair Struck by Vehicle

The driver was cited for Failing to Yield to a Pedestrian in an Unmarked Crosswalk.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Crash Investigation McMinnville Police and Fire Department paramedics responded to a reported motor vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon that involved a pedestrian in a motorized wheelchair being struck by a motor vehicle.

McMinnville Police Chief Ron Noble says the crash occurred in McMinnville at the intersection of NE 4th Street and NE Evans Street at 3:48 p.m.

Amity Man Dies in Sledding Accident

A tragic turn for a family enjoying the Oregon snow is a harsh reminder of the risks.

(AMITY, Ore.) - Yamhill County badge Kenneth John Meyer was sledding with his wife and son outside of McMinnville when, at 11:48 AM, his sled left the driveway and slid into the path of a northbound 2004 Mazda pickup, according to police. He was killed by the impact.

A man driving a lunch wagon was rear-ended by one semi, and pushed into a second semi traveling the other direction.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Aftermath of fatal crash near McMinnville, Oregon Police say one person died Tuesday morning in a three vehicle fatal traffic crash on Highway 18 west of McMinnville. The highway was closed until 4:30 PM and no citations or enforcement action has been taken.

Tanning Salon Employee Arrested for Sex Abuse

The man was arrested for alleged inappropriate sexual contact with a customer‏ on Halloween day.

(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - 22-year old Michael Ray Retone of Carlton McMinnville Police say a tanning salon employee was arrested on sex abuse charges for an incident that reportedly happened on October 31st of this year.

Captain Dennis Marks with McMinnville Police says 22-year old Michael Ray Retone of Carlton, an employee of the Bronze Bodies Tanning Salon at 220 NE 7th Street in McMinnville, was arrested an a charge of third-degree Sex Abuse for the innapropriate touching of a customer.

"The 18-year old victim stated that the incident occurred on October 31st 2008 while she was in a private room and still undressed. She had completed a spray-on tanning application when Michael Retone walked into the room...

Human Remains Found Near Five Island on Willamette River

"At this time we have no missing persons from Yamhill County who fit the description that we have been given." - Yamhill Sheriff Jack Crabtree

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Two local duck hunters and their dog located a human leg early this morning near the "Five Island" area on the Willamette River, according to Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree. He says the location where the leg was found is about 10 miles upriver or south, of Rogers Landing in the City of Newberg, and about 10 miles downriver or north, from the Wheatland Ferry area north of Salem.

“The remains were examined by the Oregon State Medical Examiners Office” Crabtree said. “The leg was determined to be that of a female, of advanced age, 5'4" to 5'7" in height; and included the right pelvic bone, femoral bone, knee area, tibia and fibula bones.”

Crabtree says no clothing was recovered with the remains. DNA sampling has been done and will be forwarded to the University of North Texas for analysis.
