Virginia Tech Officials Warn of Illegal Memorial Products, Fundraising (VIDEO)

On Monday, Virginia Tech observed a university-wide moment of silence, marked by the toll of one bell in front of Burruss Hall at 9:45 AM.

(BLACKSBURG, Va.) - Virginia Tech balloons We at Virginia Tech know everyone in the community, and throughout the world wants to express and display their feelings of respect and commitment to the victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy, their families, Virginia Tech students and the Blacksburg community.

There is unfortunately a problem with some of the "tools" we have available to us for this expression of grief.

The greater Virginia Tech University Community is advised that Virginia Tech has NOT authorized any apparel or products for sale.

One Week After Bloody Massacre, Classes Resume at Virginia Tech (VIDEO)

A moment of silence will honor the 32 victims of last week's shooting who were killed by gunman, and fellow student Cho Seung-Hui.

(BLACKSBURG, Va. ) - virginia tech memorial On Monday, Virginia Tech will observe a university-wide moment of silence, marked by the toll of one bell from the tower of Burruss Hall at 9:45 AM.

At 9:46 AM, 32 bell tolls will sound in memory of each victim, timed with the release of 32 white balloons from the Drillfield.

A release of 1,000 orange and maroon balloons signifying Hokie unity and spirit will immediately follow.

(BLACKSBURG, Va.) - virginia tech photo The Virginia State Police have closed their on-scene phase of the Virginia Tech investigation.

State, federal and local investigators are now moving on to the task of evaluating, reviewing, re-reviewing, and building a case to explain what, and as much as possible why, this tragedy occurred.

From this point, there will be little daily information to share from the law-enforcement perspective.

Panel will Independently Review Virginia Tech Tragedy

The Virginia State Police have closed their on-scene phase of the Virginia Tech investigation.

(RICHMOND) - virginia tech campus Virginia Governor Timothy M. Kaine today provided additional information on the scope and timeline of the independent review of the circumstances surrounding Monday’s tragedy at Virginia Tech.

Governor Kaine said the panel would begin its work as soon as possible, and it is anticipated a preliminary review could be completed by this fall.

Nation Continues to Mourn for Virginia Tech Victims (VIDEO)

While Cho was at Virginia Tech, warnings of his madness ran rampant throughout the campus.

(BLACKSBURG, Va.) - va tech mourns On Wednesday, NBC News headquarters in New York received correspondence believed to be from Cho Seung-Hui, the gunman responsible for the fatal shootings at Norris Hall. The correspondence includes multiple photographs, video, and writings.

Virginia Governor Timothy M. Kaine has declared Friday, April 20th, 2007 a statewide day of mourning for the victims of Monday’s tragedy at Virginia Tech.

A memorial service to commemorate the tragic events at Virginia Tech will be held on the University of Oregon campus at noon on Thursday. Similar memorials are planned at campuses all across the nation over the next few days.

Grand Jury Indicts Gresham Teen Charged in Shooting Incident at Springwater High School

The situation began on April 11th when Gresham Police Officers responded to Springwater Trail High School over a reported gunshot.

(GRESHAM) - Chad Escobedo The Multnomah County Grand Jury heard testimony yesterday regarding the charges filed against 15-year old Chad Escobedo, who was arrested last Tuesday for shooting at Springwater Trail High School and injuring several students.

The Grand Jury returned a number of indictments:

These include one count of Attempted Aggravated Murder, one count of Attempted Murder, two counts of Assault in the 2nd degree, two counts of Assault in the 3rd degree, and two counts of Unlawful use of a weapon.

NBC Received Package from Virginia Tech Shooter

Documents from 2005 declare that Cho was mentally ill and an imminent danger to others.

(BLACKSBURG, Va.) - Cho Seung-Hui NBC News in New York received correspondence from Cho Seung-Hui about the shooting at Virginia Tech. It was revealed today that the package of information that arrived at the NBC studios through the mail includes writings and images and it is reported that it was mailed prior to, or between Monday's shootings.

The package included multiple photos, images and writings. NBC immediately contacted authorities. At this point the FBI has all of the information that NBC received, they say they are going over it.

Threat Made Against Virginia Tech President (VIDEO)

Once Cho’s identification was confirmed, Virginia Tech Police records were reviewed and it was determined that there was contact with Cho in the fall of 2005.

(BLACKSBURG, Va.) - virginia tech photo At 7:53 AM this morning, a Virginia Tech operator received a threat against President Charles Steger.

Police officers responded to Steger’s office in Burruss Hall to make him aware of the potential threat.

The increased police presence in and around Buruss Hall led to rumors and false assumptions about what was going on, this then led to an unwarranted report of a suspicious person in Buruss Hall.

Virginia Tech Launches Memorial Website to Honor Shooting Victims (VIDEO)

The website is for individuals to share their condolences, thoughts, and prayers.

(BLACKSBURG, Va.) - bush at virginia tech State, local, and federal law enforcement officials continue their round-the-clock investigation of the multiple fatal shootings that took place on the Virginia Tech campus the morning of Monday, April 16th.

Within the past 24 hours, a search warrant was executed on the dorm room of Cho Seung-Hui, 23, in Harper Hall. Investigators are still determining the evidentiary value of papers and assorted items seized from the room.

In a note left in his dorm room, Cho laid out a list of grievances in which he railed against "rich kids" or "debauchery" and "deceitful charlatans" on campus.
