Police Standoff Ends With Wanted Subject in Custody

(RANIER, Ore.) - With the help of two tactical teams responding to an area known for drugs and violence in Northwest Columbia County, a man wanted on three felony charges -- including attempted murder -- was taken into custody after a three-hour standoff.

Greg Richard Wilson, 49, Rainier surrendered to sheriff's deputies after tactical team members introduced a chemical agent into the trailer in which he was hiding. Wilson is now in custody in the Columbia County Jail.

Police say 7 to 10 shots were fired on Lancaster Dr NE in Salem and it probably was gang related.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Scary moments for bystanders in Salem Thursday when a gunfight erupted on Lancaster Dr. NE at the Arco AM/PM mini mart and gas station on Lancaster and Ward Dr. NE.

A father and son in their family mini van was caught in the crossfire of the gunbattle that happened around 4:15 p.m. Thursday. It happened quickly, Artemio Mendez said. Neither he or his father were hurt, but this local man says it was no way to close out 2009.

Male Shot in Vancouver Convenience Store (UPDATE)

‏The victim has been identified as 29-year old Jose Guadalupe Muro of Vancouver.

(VANCOUVER, Wash.) - Clark County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the BI LO Food Mart at NE 88th St and Hwy 99 in Hazel Dell over a report of shots fired inside the store. A second caller stated that a male subject was injured. Sgt K.C. Kasberg with the Clark County Sheriff's Office says it happened at approximately 10:00 p.m.

"When deputies arrived they located a male subject with multiple gunshot wounds who was conscious and breathing."

Washington Deputy Fighting For His Life After Shooting Ambush

The condition of Sgt Nick Hausnser has improved, but Deputy Kent Mundell suffered life-threatening wounds and remains critical.

(SEATTLE) - Two deputies in Washington were ambushed today as they responded to a family disturbance call in the town of Eatonville, about 30 miles south of Tacoma.

The law enforcement officers entered a home where two brothers were reportedly fighting. After they were invited inside by one bother, the second retrieved a gun from upstairs and began firing down, striking the two deputies.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Marion County Sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance call in the 2800 block of Lancaster Drive NE at 3:42 a.m. this morning, where they made contact with several people having a party in an apartment.

Lieutenant Sheila Lorance with the Sheriff's Office, says that as deputies were talking to people, they located a male subject inside the residence who had a large gash on the back of his head and was bleeding heavily.

Names of Deputies Ambushed in Washington Released

(EATONVILLE, Wash.) - The names of the two Pierce County Sheriff's deputies that were shot at an Eatonville-area home were just released.

Sgt. Nick Hausner, 43, a 20 year veteran of the Sheriff's Department, was transported to Madigan Army Medical Center. He is in serious condition at this time, and Deputy Kent Mundell, 44, a 9 year veteran of the Sheriff's Department, was airlifted to the trauma center at Harborview Medical Center.

Police Investigate Injury Shooting Near North Killingsworth Street and North Commercial Avenue

Police did not specify whether or not the shooting was gang-related.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland Police officers responded to a shooting in the area of North Killingsworth Street and North Commercial Avenue Sunday evening. Sergeant Greg Stewart with the Portland Police Bureau, says the shooting was reported Sunday at approximately 6:30 p.m.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Police say a gunman fired several shots near a crowd of people early this morning in the parking lot of The Triangle Bar, at the intersection of Triangle and South Liberty in Salem. Salem Police arrived on the scene shortly after the shots were fired, around 1:15 a.m.

The suspect reportedly fired 4 to 6 shots in the air, with one round striking the roof line of the building, no other slugs were recovered, and no one was hit, or injured.

Keizer Police Captain Jeff Kuhns, says that upon their arrival, officers found an adult female and an adult male had both received a gunshot injury.
