One is usually very good --- one is frequently lethal.
(PORTLAND, OR) -
I have been conducting online research to see how many federal agencies have been protecting us from the "evil weed" marijuana, as compared to the regularly available "strong painkiller" heroin.
The latter is actually prescribed in England as Brompton Cocktail, which contains heroin or other strong morphine-like drugs
US state are increasingly passing new marijuana laws.
(SPRINGFIELD) -
Big news from Springfield, the Illinois House passed the Illinois Medical Cannabis bill in a 61-57 vote.
NORML expresses their thanks to everyone's hard work over the last several years to get this bill passed through the House.
The bill would outlaw driving with ANY detectable amount of cannabis in your blood system.
(SACRAMENTO, CA) -
We need your help to notify the public about the danger of SB 289: Zero-Tolerance Drugged-DUI Measure.
Hearings on Senator Correa's SB 289: Zero-Tolerance Drugged-DUI Measure are set for April 23rd before the State Senate Public Safety Committee.

Advocates will be gathering outside the California State Capitol for a Rally against Assembly Bill 289 that will be heard by the Senate Public Safety Committee on April 23rd.
If passed, this law would establish that anyone testing positive for a schedule one narcotic is “Drugged Driving”.
Oregon Senator Betsy Close....
(PORTLAND, OR) -
Sometimes I just can's believe what I am reading. The Oregon Legislature recently had hearings about including Combat PTSD for medical marijuana permits.
Senator Betsy Close was quoted as saying, "(I) am against expanding the medical marijuana program," and, "Marijuana does damage the body and especially the brain," and, "All drugs have side effects. This drug has documented brain damage and sex damage."
There are more women users than men! 12 state nurse associations support marijuana legalization.
(PORTLAND, OR) -
OK, so you are asking yourself, what do they know? I didn't know all of the details myself.
I originally posted an article in Salem-News.com, Nausea of Pregnancy, Marijuana Vs. Antiemitics, Marijuana Wins Hands Down!
The answer is yes!
(PORTLAND, OR) -
I actually found out about this ten years ago when I was helping one of my 1,000 PTSD Veteran patients get a medical marijuana permit.
He had been mistreated at the VA with morphine-like drugs, valium-like drugs and anti-depressants, all of which are strong brain depressants. They had destroyed his libido.
A lack of factual information takes one Senator pretty far down the wrong road.
(SALEM) -
Two combat veterans told state senators on Wednesday how marijuana has helped them cope with post-traumatic stress disorder and at times helped calmed one soldier's violent urges.
State Senator Betsy Close testified that she is against expanding the medical marijuana program.

(WASHINGTON DC) -
The Pew Research Center announced today that, for the first time in its 40 years of polling on the issue, a majority of Americans (52%) support making marijuana legal.
Just 45% said they think marijuana should remain illegal.
