Salem Teen Busted for Alcohol at Rental House on Oregon Coast

(LINCOLN CITY) - Lincoln County Oregon Sheriff badge A Salem teenager, along with 16 other minors were issued alcohol-related citations after police busted a party in Lincoln City over the weekend.

Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy Eric Sorby says he and another deputy were on patrol early Saturday morning in the area of Logan Road and NE 69th Street, when at about 12:30 AM they noticed several minors gathered on the street that appeared to be intoxicated.

They suspected a minor alcohol party was taking place at a residence nearby where other minors were seen.

Fundraiser Saturday to Help Employees of Dory Cove Restaurant

The Oregon Coast landmark was gutted by a 2-alarm fire on Nov. 29th

(LINCOLN CITY) - Dory Cove restaurant fire Friends, family, and Dory Cove clam chowder enthusiasts will have a chance Saturday to help the restaurants 32 employees who are still in need of some financial assistance after a 2-alarm fire ripped through the historic Oregon coast restaurant on Nov. 29th

The fundraiser will be held from 6:00 PM to midnight in the Chinook Winds Golf Course Banquet Room, at the Chinook Winds Casino & Resort in Lincoln City.

Food will include Dory Cove clam chowder, and also featured will be music by DJ Joel Mena, the Salmon River Band, dancing, and a silent auction.

The History of The Dory Cove Retaurant at Roads End

The historic Dory Cove Restaurant in Lincoln City was destoryed by fire Wednesday night.

I had a total of twenty two years in the Military Service and the rank of Master Sergeant. Prior to retiring I supervised the hospital dining hall at Beale Air Force Base in California.

During that time I was approached by Dr. Neal a high ranking officer in the hospital. He asked me where I planned to live when I retired. I told him I had purchased a home and had a job to go to when I retired. He told me he was aware of me being from Oregon and wondered if I might like to operate a restaurant on the Oregon Coast in the Roads End area of Lincoln City.

Historic Oregon Coast Restaurant Destroyed by Fire

The Dory Cove opened for business on July 1st, 1973 in Lincoln City.

(LINCOLN CITY) - Dory Cove restaurant fire damage An overnight fire has destroyed a historic Lincoln City restaurant.

Fire officials said they were called to the Dory Cove Restaurant, 5819 Logan Road just before 10:00 PM.

The fire re-ignited twice, and Thursday morning, crews were still on scene dowsing hotspots, and investigating the cause.

STORM WATCH: Highway 18 CLOSED Between Otis Junction And Grande Ronde

ODOT recommends that motorists use Oregon 22 between Valley Junction and Hebo as an alternative.

(LINCOLN CITY) - graphic: traffic control be aware logo The Oregon Department of Transportation has closed Oregon 18 from U.S. 101 at Otis Junction to milepost 21, just east of Grand Ronde, after high winds downed more than 100 trees across the highway.

The fallen trees are spread over a 21-mile area of Highway 18. The trees fell late Sunday and early Monday morning due to high winds and rain-saturated soil.

Searchers Find Body of One Missing Woman, Another Remains Missing

The two women were both last seen wearing light blue hooded rain jackets and gray rain pants.

(LINCOLN CITY) - Lincoln County patrol car A search resumed this morning for two women who were reported missing Tuesday after they went for a walk around Glenn Avenue in Gleneden Beach and never returned.

The Depoe Bay Fire Department says they have recovered the body of one of the women.

The search began yesterday for 78-year-old Elma Benefiel, of Beaverton, and her daughter-in-law 61-year-old Jan Benefiel, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, but the women were not found. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, U.S. Coast Guard and others searched until midnight.

More information will be released once the family has been notified.

That first job was at a cable TV station in Lincoln City, Oregon. The station is long gone but the spirit of it lives on in the hearts of those of us who were a part of it, and the memory of the night we tried to videotape devil worshippers is clear as day.

Woman Dies From Injuries After Rock Crashes Through Windshield Near Salishan on Highway 101 (UPDATE)

(GLENEDEN BEACH) - Death Investigation Oregon State Police are investigating a bizarre incident on Highway 101 near Salishan on the Oregon coast that claimed the life of a Coeur D Alene, Idaho woman. 75-year old Carol M. Martin died after being struck and injured by a large rock that crashed through the windshield of the pickup she was riding in.

It happened Thursday at approximately 11:40 AM, as a husband and wife were traveling northbound on Highway 101 just south of Lincoln City.

Police: Skull Found at Logging Site Not Brooke Wilberger

The skull was found by loggers working on Forest Service Road 1726 near east Devils Lake Road just outside Lincoln City.

(LINCOLN CITY) - Police light art A human skull found by loggers working on Forest Service Road 1726 near east Devils Lake Road is that of a 15 to 25 year old male who apparently hung himself according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office.

According to the Medical Examiner, and from evidence found by investigators, the young man is believed to have committed suicide.
