Medical Marijuana Advocates Hold Press Conference before LA City Council Hearing Tuesday

Possible closed session raises concerns of transparency as city is poised to adopt regulations.

(LOS ANGELES, Calif.) - It takes place at LA City Hall Medical marijuana advocacy organization Americans for Safe Access will hold a press conference on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m. in front of City Hall in advance of the expected vote on regulating dispensaries in Los Angeles.

The City Council has indicated they might meet in closed session to make the final deliberations on an ordinance that would regulate how and where medical marijuana dispensaries can operate in the city.

Oregon AG Kroger Charging Sizemores in New Tax Evasion Case

Attorney General Kroger said that several other potential tax evasion cases are under investigation.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Oregon Attorney General John Kroger today announced that the Oregon Department of Justice has filed tax evasion charges against Bill and Cindy Sizemore.

The Sizemores were each indicted by a grand jury on three counts of Oregon Personal Income Tax Evasion. The indictment alleges that Bill and Cindy Sizemore each failed to file tax returns for the tax years 2006, 2007 and 2008.

(GRESHAM, Ore.) - Photo of crash scene on SE 181st in Gresham, Oregon Police say 30-year old Alejandro Reyes Cruz of Gresham & his family were stopped for a red light facing Southbound in the left turn lane on SE Stark at SE 181st today at 2:45 p.m. when their vehicle was suddenly struck from behind by a pick up truck, which left the scene Eastbound on SE 181st.

The force of the impact pushed his car forward into another vehicle being operated by 24-year old Juan Velasquez Lunda of Gresham.

Fugitive Josh Nicholas Captured in Yamhill County

After successfully eluding police, Nicholas was captured hours later at a residence in unincorporated Yamhill County.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - 2007 photo of 36-year old Josh Nicholas Officials say a fugitive out of Washington County, 36-year old Josh Nicholas, was captured tonight in rural Yamhill County by investigators who had been looking for him throughout the day.

Sgt. David Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office, says deputies and the US Marshals Oregon Fugitive Task Force tracked Josh Nicholas down, explaining that he is a felon wanted for parole violation warrants.

Police Say Driving Rampage Ends in Fatal Shots

Police say a man shot at police after crashing into cars and shooting an innocent bystander.

(HILLSBORO, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Hillsboro Police say a report of a man shooting a gun out of his vehicle after ramming into several other vehicles, ultimately led to a series of incidents that left one bystander and the suspect, mortal injured from gunshot wounds.

The call came in Saturday at 1:24 p.m. and was reported in the area of SE Baseline Street and SE 10th Avenue in Hillsboro, according to Sgt. Bob Ray with the Washington Co. Sheriff's Office, the agency investigating the police involved shooting.
