Oregon Couple Dies on Highway 97 After Clipping Semi Truck Trailer (PHOTOS)

The impact of the crash actually tore the trailer's rear dual wheels off.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - Fatal crash near Klamath Falls, Oregon 6-9-09 Police say a Keno-area couple were killed Tuesday morning on Highway 97 south of Klamath Falls in a collision between a commercial vehicle and sport utility vehicle.

Oregon State Police Lieutenant Steve Nork says that for an unknown reason, the vehicle traveled across the paved center median area in front of the Midland Rest Area and crashed into the rear dual wheels of a semi-trailer. Nork says the impact of the crash actually tore the trailer's rear dual wheels off.

Police Say Woman Fell Asleep at the Wheel Before Serious Injury Crash

The crash happened on Highway 140 near Fish Lake.

(FISH LAKE, Ore.) - Crash near Fish Lake, Oregon 4-29-09 State Police say a Klamath Falls woman received non-life threatening injuries Wednesday afternoon when she crashed after reportedly falling asleep at the wheel.

The driver lost control of her sport utility vehicle while on Highway 140 just after noon, near Fish Lake in southern Oregon.

Two Injured in Head-On Crash near Klamath Falls

Police consider speed to be a contributing factor and the primary cause of the crash.

(LAKE OF THE WOODS, Ore.) - 2 vehicle crash on Highway 140W about thirty miles west of Klamath Falls near Lake of the Woods in Oregon, 2-14-08 State troopers say two people were seriously injured Thursday afternoon at approximately 5:20 PM in a two vehicle crash on Highway 140W about thirty miles west of Klamath Falls near Lake of the Woods.

According to Oregon State Police Sergeant Robert Fenner, a 2000 Toyota 4 Runner driven by 30-year old Jerimiah Paladino of Medford, was westbound on Highway 140W near milepost 36 when it lost control on an icy spot on the roadway and slid into the eastbound lane.

Man Seriously Injured in Crash with Commercial Trucks

Neither commercial driver was injured.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - Crash near Klamath Falls, Oregon, 1-30-08 A Klamath Falls-area man was seriously injured and his 6-year old daughter received minor injuries Wednesday night when their pickup was struck by two commercial trucks on Highway 97 in Klamath Falls.

Following over two hours of extrication efforts by firefighters, the seriously injured man was removed from his pickup.

400 Pound Washington Man Arrested in Stolen Car Ring

Two Arrested Stolen Car Suspects Possibly Tied to Eight Vehicle Thefts in Oregon & Washington in One Week.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - 28-year old Christopher Nicholas Womack 25-year old Natacha Nichole Brister were arrested in Klamath Falls, Oregon on numerous charges. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers arrested two people west of Klamath Falls Tuesday afternoon who they say may be responsible for the theft of eight vehicles during a one-week period in Oregon and Washington.

OSP Senior Trooper Ryan Niehus says that at 3:40 PM on January 22nd, OSP troopers were set up to intercept and stop a stolen Honda passenger car eastbound on Highway 140W.

Missing Snowmobiler Located Safely (NEW PHOTOS)

The rider was dehydrated and cold but refused transport to the hospital.

(CRESCENT, Ore.) - 65-year old Robert Plumb, was located safely today by a search and rescue helicopter A man who took a snowmobile out for a ride last night near Crescent, Oregon and never returned, 65-year old Robert Plumb, was located safely today by a search and rescue helicopter. Plumb was located at 12:37 P.M. by an aircraft out of Jackson County, approximately 20 miles East of Crescent.

Tim Evinger with the Klamath County Sheriff's Office says Plumb is in remarkably good shape considering his ordeal during the past 24 hours with temperatures overnight dipping below zero.

Missing Person Search Underway Near Klamath Falls

They say the man is lost in an area where there are hundreds of snowmobile tracks.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.) - Robert Plumb of Crescent, Oregon left his home on a snowmobile before noon Tuesday. Photo: Klamath County Sheriff Klamath County Deputies responded around 7:30 PM last night on a report of an overdue person who had been snowmobiling in northern Klamath County. Klamath County Sheriff Tim Evinger says preliminary information is that 65-year old Robert Plumb of Crescent, Oregon left his home on a snowmobile before noon Tuesday.

"Klamath County Searchers on snowmobiles searched throughout the night after following snowmobile tracks thought to be Plumbs. The tracks continued for miles south until they met up with a more heavily used trail where the tracks blended with those from other snowmobiles."

Salem Woman Dies in Crash Near Klamath Falls

Marlene Ramsdell of Salem was pronounced deceased at the scene.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Semi truck involved in the fatal crash, 11-20-07 A Salem-area woman died early Tuesday morning when her vehicle was struck by a commercial truck while attempting to drive from the highway shoulder onto Highway 97 north of Klamath Falls.

Lieutenant Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police say that just before 1:00 AM this morning, a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by 47-year old Marlene C. Ramsdell of Salem, was southbound on Highway 97 near milepost 270 when, for an unknown reason, it turned left into an Oregon Motel 8 parking lot and made a u-turn, stopping on the edge of the highway.

Oregon Man Killed by Police After Taking Infant Hostage

The 11-month-old was not hurt in the incident.

(KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. ) - death investigation logo Klamath Falls police shot and killed a man Friday night after he had taken an 11-month-old infant hostage.

Police say 27-year-old Jesse Lee Johnson, told officers he was drunk and high on meth, and was going to kill the boy with a knife.

After negotiating with the man for about a half an hour, Johnson walked out of the home with a knife to the baby’s throat.

Gas Leak Forces Airport Evacuation in Klamath Falls

Scary moments at Kingsley Field but no injuries.

(KLAMATH FALLS) - There was a flurry of activity Thursday morning on the runway and in the passenger terminal at the Klamath Falls Airport.

Ryan Brown with KFLS Radio says it was approximately 9:00 AM when a gas leak was discovered at Kingsley Field that forced the evacuation of the terminal building.

Emergency crews responded to the scene. It took crews about an hour to make repairs from the time it was discovered.
