Gas Leak Forces Airport Evacuation in Klamath Falls

Scary moments at Kingsley Field but no injuries.

Historic Kingsley Field at Klamath Falls

(KLAMATH FALLS) - There was a flurry of activity Thursday morning on the runway and in the passenger terminal at the Klamath Falls Airport.

Ryan Brown with KFLS Radio says it was approximately 9:00 AM when a gas leak was discovered at Kingsley Field that forced the evacuation of the terminal building.

Emergency crews responded to the scene. It took crews about an hour to make repairs from the time it was discovered.

All flights were back on schedule by midday and the airport resumed normal activities. Airport Director Ann Crook says that at this time, officials still do not know what caused the leak.
