Why Are Thai Authorities Unjust with Rohingyas?

The Rohingya are mostly stateless Muslims from Myanmar, also known as Burma.

(FRANKFURT Burma Times) - Mohamed Ibrahim Thai authorities have sent around 1,300 Rohingya refugees back to Myanmar, a top official said on Thursday.

Burma Urged to Drop Census Questions on Ethnicity, Religion

After the last census in 1983, the military regime reported that Muslims constituted 4 percent of the population in the Buddhist-majority country, but this percentage may not be accurate.

Teen says the offenders were police and Buddhist villagers.

(DU CEE TAR TAN Village World Bulleti) - Rohingya villagers A 16-year-old Rohingya Muslim girl told Anadolu Agency that she was gang raped by police and local Rakhine villagers after an alleged massacre in Du Chee Yar Tan village, Rakhine state, Myanmar.

According to AA sources, at least 50 people were killed last month when a group of local Buddhists, backed by police, rampaged through the village killing the elderly, women and children.
