Oregon Diesel and Gas Prices Continue to Soar

In Salem, the average price this week jumped 5-cents to a new record high today of $3.42.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - gas station Gas prices in Oregon continue to reach new all-time record highs, while at the same time diesel prices in the state continue to skyrocket according to AAA.

Today, the average statewide price for a gallon of regular unleaded is at $3.461. On Monday, a the new record high was set at $3.462. That's up 4-cents from a week ago. Diesel set a new record high today in the state as the price soared another 14-cents this week to $3.95 a gallon.

Oregon - Nationwide Gas Prices Hit All-Time Highs

In Salem, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.37, up a whopping 45-cents from one month ago.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - gas pump Gas prices in Oregon and throughout the U.S. hit all time record highs today, as the price for a barrel oil breifly went over $109 during Tuesday's trading.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded in the U.S. is now at $3.22. That's up from 2.95 one month ago, and up 68-cents from one year ago. In Oregon, prices reached an all-time high at $3.42 a gallon, up 6-cents from one week ago.

No Relief in Sight from Skyrocketing Gas Prices

Oregon's average for regular unleaded is just a few cents shy of the record high set last May.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gad pump handle "Here it is early March, and the price of gas is just a few cents away from the record highs set last May." AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says, "The Oregon average shoots up another 11 cents this week to $3.36, on top of a 16-cent hike the week before.

The national average is up two-and-a-half cents to $3.17, after an 11-cent increase the week before. The price of crude oil has been in record territory, passing $103 per barrel in trade Monday."

Pain at the Pumps as Oregon Gas Prices Spike

The price of gas in Oregon skyrockets another 16 cents this week, on top of an 11-cent increase the week before. And the national average soars 11 cents this week after a 7-cent increase the week before. But inventories of oil and gas are high. What happened to the laws of supply and demand?

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas pump nozzle The Oregon average rockets up 16 cents this week to $3.25, while the national average jumps up 11 cents to $3.14. The price of crude hit $101 per barrel again today, after reaching that record high for the first time last week.

Salem drivers are seeing an average cost of $3.204 per gallon, while Portland motorists see an average price of $3.235 for regular. Drivers in Eugene/Springfield are paying $3.287 at the pump, and the Medford/Ashland region is seeing an average cost of $3.317.

The national average continues to decline, but here in Oregon pump prices are on the rise.

Oregon`s Average Drops Below National Average as Gas Prices Fall

It's unusual for Oregon's statewide average for regular unleaded is less than the national average.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Gas station attendant The national average and the Oregon statewide average both have fallen below the $3 per gallon mark for regular unleaded. AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says it's the first time in five weeks the national average has been below $3, and the first time since mid-October the Oregon average has been this low.

Portland’s average of $2.896 for a gallon of regular is the cheapest in the state, Salem follows with an average cost of $2.917 for regular. In Eugene/Springfield drivers are paying $2.933 at the pump and the average price in the Medford/Ashland area is $3.015. In Vancouver, Washington, motorists are paying $3.003 for self serve regular.

Gas Prices Ease at the Pumps

Gas prices this week are down in all four of Oregon's measured metropolitan areas, and in Vancouver, WA.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon gas pumps "The price of gas is down a few cents this week, as the price of crude continues to back further away from the record $100 per barrel set two weeks ago." AAA Oregon Public Affairs Director Marie Dodds says the national average and the Oregon average are only a cent-and-a-half apart now.

The national average for regular unleaded is down about four-and-a-half cents in the past week to $3.061 per gallon, while Oregon's statewide average is down four-and-a-half cents to $3.076. The price of crude is at less than $92 per barrel today.

10% Ethanol Blend Mandated in Oregon Beginning Tuesday

As of January 15th, E10 Fuel is Required to be Pumped in Northwest Oregon.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Ethanol art A new law goes into effect tomorrow in Oregon requiring gasoline retailers to pump a ten-percent ethanol blend. The E10 standard kicks in on January 15 for these counties in northwest Oregon: Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, and Yamhill.

It's only January, and already the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is less than 13 cents away from hitting a new record high. At the same time, the price of crude oil has backed down slightly from last week's record of $100 per barrel.

Crude Oil Reaches $100 Per Barrel Mark

We start a new year with a new record high for crude oil. After weeks of speculation, the price of crude finally reached $100 per barrel. Gas prices are up across the country and in Oregon.
