Fall Chinook Fishery Closes on Snake River(ENTERPRISE, Ore.) - The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is reminding anglers that fall chinook fishing on the Snake River ends Oct. 31, 2010 at 11:59 p.m. Anglers will still be able to harvest fin-clipped hatchery steelhead through April 30, 2011. Three state and federal agencies are hosting a series of four public meetings on the soon-to-be released plan to restore spring chinook and winter steelhead populations in the upper Willamette River Basin. The meetings are sponsored by the State of Oregon’s Governors Natural Resources Office, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Marine Fisheries Service.

Coquille wild coho fishery closes MondaySalem-News.com(CHARLESTON, Ore.) -
This is the last weekend of the season to fish for wild coho in the Coquille River. Beginning Monday, Oct. 11, the fishery will beodfw closed because the harvest quota of 1,200 fish is projected to be met, ODFW fishery managers said.

Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission adopted an Updated 2010 Oregon Wolf Conservation and Management Plan(BEND, Ore.) - The update makes minor changes to the original Plan to make it more practical. (BURNS, Ore.) - Oregon State Police (OSP) Fish and Wildlife Division troopers from the Burns work site are asking for the public's help to identify the suspect(s) responsible for an illegal deer kill that occurred within the city limits of Hines, Oregon. A reward of up to $500 for information leading to an arrest in this case is being offered by the Oregon Hunters Association Turn in a Poacher (T.I.P.) Program. The T.I.P. reward program pays for information leading to the arrest and conviction of person(s) involved in the illegal killing, taking, possession or waste of big game animals, upland game birds or waterfowl.
