Canby Fire and Police Hosting Annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony

To remember those that gave it all.

(CANBY, Ore.) - Canby 911 memorial Canby Fire & Police will be having our annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony this Thursday, September 11, at Station 62, 221 S Pine, Canby OR. It will start at 8:00 am and should conclude approximately one hour later.

This year is New York/WTC remembrance, and we will be rededicating the Roddy Morris sculpture and it's redesigned name plaques. Our theme will be, "Personal reflections on 9/11, what the day means to me". This year we are also having our personnel share their thoughts on 9/11 from the perspective of a Firefighter/Police Officer.

Oregon`s Deception Complex Fire Continues with Spotting Distance Less than a Half Mile

The Deception Complex Fire is located two miles west of Oakridge, Oregon, encompassing 2,747 acres, with 55% contained, and 1,068 total personnel fighting the fire.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Deception Complex fire Friday evening’s glow seen from Oakridge was the product of successful burnout operations on the eastern perimeter of the fire line.

A critical fire weather pattern continues today with south/southeast winds approximately 7-12 mph with gusts up to 27 mph. There were no spots outside of the established fire lines of the Deception Complex, and the intensity of the burn was kept to a low or moderate level.

Lost Hubcap Fire Burning South of Monument, Oregon

The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Friday burning in grass, sagebrush and juniper fuels.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Monument, Oregon The Lost Hubcap Fire has burned 1,200-1,500 acres nine miles south of the community of Monument in the Central Oregon District's John Day Unit.

The Oregon Department of Forestry has two heavy air tankers, four single-engine air tankers and one helicopter fighting the fire, along with six fire engines, four bulldozers and district hand crews. Additional resources from the South Fork Complex are assisting.

Salem Firefighters Battling Two Alarm House Fire

(SALEM, Ore. ) - BREAKING NEWS Salem-News.com is on scene of a two alarm house fire in the 3800 block of Arbon Street NE in Salem.

Neighbors told Salem-News.com that they saw flames shooting out of the window on the back of the home and called 9-1-1. First arriving firefighters found the house, which was vacant, fully involved and called in a second alarm.

Woman Escapes Salem Mobile Home Fire

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Oregon Fire Salem firefighters were able to quickly put out a fire inside a mobile home in NE Salem Friday afternoon.

Salem Fire Chief Brian Hoaglin told Salem-News.com on scene that the fire, located inside the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park at the corner of Portland Road NE and Hazelgreen Road NE, started in the kitchen and worked it's way up into the attic.

Two Lightning Fires Strike Overnight, NWS Issues Red Flag Warning

The National Weather Service has issued several Red Flag Warnings throughout Oregon Monday night for possible abundant lightning strikes.

(LEBANON, Ore. ) - Lightning Fires Oregon The Lebanon Fire Department responded to a lightning caused grass fire at 9:18 p.m. Sunday night at 32843 Sand Ridge Road.

While on the way to the fire, one of the engines discovered a newly ignited fire at 36159 Airport Road in Lebanon.

Semi-Truck Catches Fire in Downtown Salem

High Street has re-opened between Ferry Street and Church Street in downtown Salem.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Truck Fire Salem Firefighters and Salem Police had a rare situation on their hands Saturday afternoon.

A semi truck caught fire on High Street in downtown Salem blocking all lanes of traffic.

Tree Fire at Salem School Quickly Extinguished by Firefighters

A neighbor told Salem-News.com that the base of this particular tree is a popular hangout for neighborhood juveniles during the hot summer months to congregate, and smoke cigarettes.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Salem Tree Fire A over 50 foot evergreen tree on the backside of a SE Salem elementary school was quickly put out by Marion County Fire District No.1 firefighters Wednesday evening.

Lebanon Woman Severely Burned Trying to Move Burning Pot from Stove

The Lebanon Fire Department would like to remind everyone that a pot burning on the stove should never be picked up.

(LEBANON, Ore. ) - REACH helicopter A 65-year-old woman from Lebanon was flown by a REACH helicopter to a Portland Hospital with severe burns after she fell asleep while a pan was still on the stove.

Lebanon Fire Department was called to the home in the 600 block of Tangent Street around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night. When they arrived they found the home full of smoke and the victim laying on the floor near the front door.

Improperly Disposed of Cigarette to blame for Fire at Portland Sizzlers

Damage estimates are set at $40,000. No injuries were reported.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Portland Fire and Rescue At 7:02 p.m. Tuesday evening, Portland Fire and Rescue responded to a Commercial fire at 3737 SE 82nd Ave, Sizzlers Restaurant.

When firefighters arrived they found a fire on an exterior wall that had extended into the building. The restaurant was occupied at the time but everyone was able to evacuate safely.
