Collision with Deer Leads to Motorcyclist Death

Troopers from the Burns worksite are investigating the crash.

(BURNS, Ore.) - cycle fatal 101407 A motorcyclist died after striking a deer and being struck by a pickup truck in rural Harney County last night. Police say the crash happened around 7:10 PM, as 46-year old Howard Pries of Bend, was riding his 1985 Honda Goldwing motorcycle eastbound on US 20, about five miles east of Burns.

Police say his bike struck a deer in the roadway. The collision separated Mr. Pries from his motorcycle; he was then struck by a westbound Dodge Dakota pickup which was operated by 42-year old Dawn Salsbery of Stanfield. Neither Ms. Salsbery nor her two passengers were injured.

Crash at French Prairie Injures Mom and Daughter

The driver was seriously injured and transported by ambulance to Newberg Hospital. Her daughter, Alaura Stallings, received injuries and was also transported to the same hospital.

(FRENCH PRAIRIE, Ore.) - Crash on Highway 219 in Oregon, 10-9-07 A McMinnville-area woman was seriously injured Monday morning when her sport utility vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into the back of a flatbed trailer at the intersection of French Prairie Road and Highway 219 east of St. Paul.

Police say this morning at approximately 7:15 AM, a 1997 Honda Passport driven by 45-year old Juanita L. Stallings of McMinnville, was southbound on French Prairie Road taking her 7-year old daughter to school.

Charred Remains in Car Probably Suicide

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is releasing this information now to help ease community concerns over this suspicious and unfortunate death.

(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Salem-News.com The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit Supervisor has announced that the arson-torched vehicle containing human remains - found in a remote area of Estacada last week, is likely part of a suicide case.

Investigators say they have contacted the immediate family of the registered owner of the incinerated vehicle, and have learned that the suspected deceased individual had been suffering from significant health problems.

Crash on Interstate-5 Injures Three Motorcyclists

The serious injury motorcycle crash happened on Interstate 5 north of Salem‏. The cyclists were enroute to a funeral

(SALEM, Ore.) - Motorcycles in the Salem, Oregon freeway crash, 10-7-07 Three people were injured in a motorcycle crash Sunday on the freeway north of Salem. One of the riders was injured critically police say, in the multiple motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon on northbound Interstate 5.

Investigators say it happened around 1:35 PM, when a large group of motorcyclists were northbound on Interstate 5 as part of an organized ride to a reported funeral in the Portland area.

UPDATE: Motorcycles Crash on Freeway North of Salem‏

All northbound lanes Interstate 5 near milepost 265 reopened following a multiple motorcycle crash this afternoon.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Three people were injured, one critically, in a multiple motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon on northbound Interstate 5, about two miles north of Brooks. Police say names are not available for release.

Police say today at approximately 1:35 PM, a large group of motorcyclists were northbound on Interstate 5 as part of an organized ride that started in the Medford area. During the ride, other motorcycles were joining in.

Oregon Pilots Assist in Missing Person Search‏

The missing hunter is reported to have medical problems and is believed to be driving a red 1994 Chevy pickup truck with a red camper shell.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Crook County in Central Oregon Oregon' Wing of the U.S. Civil Air Patrol is assisting the Crook County, Oregon Sheriff in the search for a missing 47-year old male hunter who has been missing in the Ochoco National Forest since Thursday.

They have stopped operations at this point, "but will bring in four aircraft on Sunday to assist the Crook County Sheriff in the search, Lt Col. Thomas Traver, the Oregon CAP public affairs officer said. "This will bring to a total of 20 CAP personnel involved in this search effort."

Salem Fire Holds Annual Open House

A LifeFlight Helicopter Display will be on hand, and other important things like refreshments and free door prizes.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Flash the Fearless Fire Dog and his trainer Bill Holmstrom The Salem Fire Department will hold an open house for the community in celebration of Fire Prevention Week. It happens at the Salem Airport Fire Station, 2740 25th Street SE in Salem on Monday, October 8th.

Fire Department Spokesman Bill Holmstrom says there will be many things for people of all ages to see and do. That includes scheduled events like a Fire Apparatus Demo, Car Extrication, Bicycle Safety, a Live Fire Demo, and of course "Flash the Fearless Fire Dog," who local educators say is a great way to reach kids.

3 Salem Teens Injured When Car Hits Stone Wall

Firefighters had to extricate the front seat passenger who was pinned inside the vehicle by cutting off the door.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - salem car crash Three Salem teens were injured in a motor vehicle accident Friday afternoon, when the car they were riding in slammed into a stone wall.

Salem Fire Department spokeman Bill Holstrom says the incident occurred around 2:48 PM at the intersection of Titan Drive and Firefox Street in West Salem. First arriving firefighters discovered a Honda Accord had hit a stone wall in a front yard.

(ALBANY, Ore.) - Images of people who bone marrow transplants have saved The Albany Fire Department will be hosting a bone marrow drive on Tuesday, October 9th at Fire Station 11, located at 110 SE 6th Avenue, from 7:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

You must be between the ages of 18 to 60, meet the health guidelines, fill out a form, give a cheek cell swab, and be willing to donate to any patient in need.
