I was born when my parents were in their 40's, so they had been at this 'life' thing for quite a while before I came along. For this reason I didn't have them as long as most people (hopefully) have theirs. My dad was 46 when I was born, and I was 45 when my dad died.

(EL PASO) - Richard Arina On Memorial Day, Albuquerque resident Michael Brown embarked on a run of more than 260-miles to the US-Mexico border.

The long-distance runner began his marathon at the spot where the bodies of 11 murdered women were found on Albuquerque’s West Mesa back in February 2009. Headed south, the US Navy veteran stopped at a grave site to honor his fallen military brethren and then visited the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Park in Truth or Consequences, NM.

Foreclosure Rates in Salem Increase

The mortgage delinquency rate in Salem has increased.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Oregon foreclosures Foreclosure rates in Salem have increased for the month of March over the same period last year, according to CoreLogic.

Foreclosures for the Salem area, the rate of foreclosures among outstanding mortgage loans is 2.65 percent for the month of March 2011, an increase of 0.60 percentage points compared to March of 2010 when the rate was 2.05 percent.

Senate Approves Bill Outlining Critical Services to Oregon Seniors

HB 3037 revises coverage under Oregon Project Independence.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Oregon capitol The Senate passed a bill this morning that specifies that services provided through the state’s Oregon Project Independence (OPI) program.

HB 3037 clarifies that eligible seniors in the program can receive in-home and community-based home care, health promotion services, information on immediate and long range options counseling, and transportation services through OPI.

(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) - Salem-News.com As any parent who has lost a child knows, the anniversary of the death of the child is a reminder of the hole we carry in our hearts every day. My daughter, Jill died nine years ago on April 29. I was fortunate to be Jill's mommy (she never called me mom) for 29 years on earth.

I continue to be her mommy while she is in heaven and loving her and keeping her memory alive -- until we are reunited.
