(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Lately, I have been reflecting on what I have in common with extremists. It turns out that the list is longer than one would think.

I hold their same passions for change, an ability to withstand discomfort--put more bluntly, tolerance for risk of pain that some term masochism--and I share a lack of tolerance for passivity and denial. Extremists are people of action.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - I have been honored to be asked to be a speaker at the 2nd Annual FED UP! Rally to be held in Washington, D.C. on September 28, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

FED UP has long held my deepest respect for their commitment and hard work toward what they call "an immediate coordinated and comprehensive federal action to end the epidemic of addiction and overdose deaths attributed to opioids (including heroin) and other prescription drugs."

Public Meeting to Address Public Safety Concerns in Polk County

Polk County District Attorney Aaron Felton will address all public safety issues and concerns at 7:30 a.m., on Tuesday, August 5, at the Courtyard Coffee House, 156 SE Mill Street in Dallas.

(DALLAS, Ore. ) - Residents of Polk County are invited to an open meeting with the Polk County District Attorney to discuss and listen to the public's idea's about current public safety issues the county is currently facing.

The Sheriff's office reduced patrols to 10 hours per day on March 29, due to funding reductions. The impact has been a total of 332 calls from citizens during the hours of 10:00 p.m. to noon since March 29 through May 31 in which no deputies were available to respond.

Applause for Paws takes place on Wednesday, at the Historic Grand Theatre, located at 191 High St NE in downtown Salem.
