Deputies on Scene of Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

The fatal accident will be investigated throughout the day.

(AURORA, Ore.) - The Marion County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Team is on scene of a two vehicle crash, on Arndt Road NE, near Aurora. The initial investigation shows that a commercial truck traveling east on Arndt Road collided with a pickup truck traveling westbound.

The driver of the commercial truck is not injured and cooperating with investigators, tragically the driver of the pickup truck has been pronounced dead at the scene.

Two People Critically Injured in South Marion County Crash

Two vehicles collided head-on with each other at about 2:30 pm this afternoon on Liberty Rd S near Bunker Hill Rd S.

(SALEM, Ore.) - One the vehicles is a Green 1993 Ford Explorer, driven by 39-year old Michael Lowe of South Salem and the other is a Black 2013 Hyundai Elantra, driven by 58-year old Randy Harrison, also of South Salem.

Lowe was extricated from his vehicle by fire personnel. Both Lowe and Harrison were injured in the crash and transported by ambulance to Salem hospital where they are in critical condition.

Over 20 Trucks and Vehicles in Major Crash on I-84

4 people were transported with minor to serious injuries.

(EASTERN OREGON) - I-84 Eastbound is now open to single lane travel at MP 318, 12 miles east of Baker City. Both lanes of the Eastbound freeway had been blocked since around 4:54 a.m. due to a crash involving over 20 semi-trucks and other vehicles.

The Eastbound freeway is also open at La Grande and Pendleton.

Street Re-Opened: Mission Street Accident (PHOTOS)

Mission Street has been reopened.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Mission Street SE between 17th & 22nd Streets is closed due to a vehicle crash. The vehicle landed in Shelton Ditch and first responders have closed traffic due to the situation.

Watch for detour signs and avoid the area until further notice.

Southbound 25th St. SE traffic has been detoured at McGilchrist St SE.

Six People Hurt in Head-On Crash Near Creswell

One of the Nissan's occupants, 42-year-old Maria Ynez, from Eugene, was transported by air ambulance.

(CRESWELL, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police is continuing their investigation into the cause of Saturday evening's serious injury two vehicle head-on traffic crash on Highway 200 west of Creswell.

According to Trooper Cale Day, at approximately 3:42 p.m., a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by 20-year-old Rick A. Kitzel from Eugene, was traveling southbound on Territorial Highway near milepost 34 at Hamm Road when the pickup crossed the centerline.

Both drivers were able to walk away from the accident with only some minor injuries.

(ALBANY, Ore. ) - Two drivers are lucky to be alive Saturday after a serious two vehicle accident south of Albany, Oregon.

The Tangent Fire Department says they and the Linn County Sheriff's Department were called to an accident at 33725 SE Columbus St. just after 7:00 a.m.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public's help to locate a vehicle and driver involved in Wednesday morning's serious injury hit-and-run crash along Interstate 5 south of Wilsonville.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and ODOT responded to a reported three vehicle hit-and-run crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the 282 interchange at approximately 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 21st.

Logging Helicopter Crash Claims Life of Pilot

Logging is a dangerous occupation, whether above or on the ground.

(DETROIT, OR.) - A log-transporter helicopter crashed in Linn County near Blowout Road, two miles from Highway 22 east of Salem, claiming the life of the pilot Monday morning.

The helicopter had picked up a load when witnesses reported hearing a loud snapping sound which was followed by logs hitting the ground and it appeared the pilot had released the logs electronically, indicating the pilot knew of a problem prior to the crash.
