Serious Injury Hit-and-Run on Interstate 5 South of Wilsonville

Police Need Help Finding Offending Driver

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Oregon State Police (OSP) is asking for the public's help to locate a vehicle and driver involved in Wednesday morning's serious injury hit-and-run crash along Interstate 5 south of Wilsonville.

Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and ODOT responded to a reported three vehicle hit-and-run crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 near the 282 interchange at approximately 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 21st. OSP and the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office also responded.

A gray or silver sport utility vehicle, similar to a Dodge Durango, caused a crash with two other vehicles; a white Toyota Corolla driven by 30-year old Krista Cain, from Woodburn, and a white Honda Civic driven by 34-year old Olga Avalos Valencia, from Beaverton.

Avalos Valencia was transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health & Science University with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the SUV didn't stop at the scene.

Witnesses described the vehicle's driving as reckless prior to the crash. No license plate information was obtained.
