Corvallis Police are investigating a bank robbery that happened early Monday afternoon at the Umpqua Bank at 415 NW 3rd Street. Corvallis Police Lieutenant Ron Noble says that around 12:45 PM Monday, a man entered the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money.

Governor Speaks to Student Organization; Calls for More Post-Secondary Ed FundingSalem-News.com Education Report(CORVALLIS) -
Governor Ted Kulongoski today met with students from Oregon State University`s Associated Student organization and discussed the need for continued investment in post-secondary education. He also discussed a letter he sent to the student group last week, in which he said that he supported several of their initiatives, including child care for students, help with financial aid and college applications and their opposition to a high aid-high tuition model of financing education.
