Obama: Reenact the Afghan Children`s Fund

Come on President Obama, please do this for Afghan kids

(SALEM, Ore.) - Women in Kabul, Afghanistan with British soldiers. When then President George W. Bush enacted the Afghan Children's Fund, most Americans were still trying to get their minds around what was actually going on there.

The fund was a good idea, but Bush apparently decided that the kids of Afghanistan had received enough help, and the program was abandoned by the White House on April 1, 2005. We need it to revive it.

(NEW YORK) - Women in Africa Underscoring the warning issued by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization and the World Food Program that hunger is worsening around the world, the 2009 Global Hunger Index (GHI) records “alarming” levels of hunger and malnutrition in 29 countries.

500 Mile March for PTSD Will Happen in Spring

The March from Oregon to California will take place after winter thaws.

(SALEM, Ore.) - U.S. soldiers on patrol in Kabul, Afghanistan The date for our planned 500-Mile March for PTSD has been moved to Spring. We had originally intended to conduct the march in September, but the extension will allow us to be fully prepared and not operating in haste.

The march will raise funds for our hour-ling television documentary on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, commonly known as PTSD. We completed a production trip just weeks ago in Oregon, California and Arizona, gaining significant material for the program.

Yamhill County Charity Director Indicted for Embezzlement

Elizabeth Rhode was arrested on September 15, 2009.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Elizabeth Anne Rhode faces seven counts of forgery and aggravated theft for allegedly stealing more than $50,000 from the Crystal Dawn Smith Rilee Foundation, Yamhill County Sheriff Jack Crabtree said.

The Sheriff joined Yamhill County District Attorney Brad Berry and Oregon Attorney General John Kroger today, to announce the indictment and arrest of the local charity director on charges of embezzlement.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Dr. Phil Leveque and Bonnie King The first time we produced a television documentary the project was for Oregon Public Broadcasting, the year was 1993, and the subject was the story of the sole survivor of the WWII B-17 bomber crash on Cape Lookout in Oregon.

Now we are engaged in the production of a documentary about a huge subject: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is a condition experienced by people who survive any range of traumatic events, and combat heads the list of reasons that people end up living with PTSD.

New Riverfront Park Fountain Opens Independence Day With Ceremonial Tribute

The new feature is dedicated to the children of Salem, in memory of Asher Anderson.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem's Riverfront Park Salem's new interactive spray fountain in Riverfront Park will open to the public as part of the Salem's three-day July 4th Riverfront Park festivities. At 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 4th, the fountain will be dedicated to the children of Salem.

At the completion of the brief ceremony, the fountain will be turned on for all to use, says Nicole Wahlberg, Public Information Manager with Salem's Urban Development Department.

Kadel`s 16th Annual Golf Classic Raises Over $12k for Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oregon

Kadel's CEO Don Braden wrote the check to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for $12,200.

(AURORA, Ore.) - Kadel's Auto Body gives check to Make-A-Wish Foundation Kadel's Auto Body held their 16th Annual Golf Classic at Langdon Farms Golf Course and raised over $12,000 for local charity Make-A-Wish Foundations of Oregon. Golfers and sponsors turned out to support this organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

One of Kadel's employees who worked at the event said "It was one of our best tournaments." "Many of these golfers come back year after year because the4y love to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The weather was wonderful."
