Wife Finds Seriously Injured Husband Following Overnight DUII Crash Near CanbySalem-News.comPolice say the man talked to his wife prior to 2:30 AM and was enroute home, after getting off work at a Canby-areas restaurant. (CANBY, Ore.) -
A Portland-area man was found seriously injured by his wife Tuesday morning in a field near a church following an alcohol-involved overnight single vehicle crash along Highway 99E north of Canby.

One occupant narrowly escaped being hit by the train, while two perished.
(CANBY, Ore.) - An Amtrak train struck a car Friday night at the Canby intersection of NE 4th Ave and Hwy 99E, at about 10:20 PM. The vehicle erupted in flames upon impact, and was pushed nearly 1450 feet down the train tracks, burning the entire time.

Police say one man is in custody for hitting two Canby men with a tire iron at 1802 N Pine Street in Canby. They say Bryce N. Deller of Canby was arrested for Assault II of the the assault that happened June 3rd at 10:45 PM.
Detective Chris Mead with Canby Police says Deller allegedly approached the victims and began to argue with them over some issues with his girlfriend.
The firefighters had a job on their hands; keeping the car from tipping over during the unusual rescue operation.

Canby Fire District rescue team members responded to a rollover accident this morning on 99E north of Canby. The circumstances with the rolled car proved to be a challenge.
Deputy Fire Marshal Todd Gary says firefighters arrived to find the vehicle on its side in a unstable position. He says they where then confronted with the question of how to extricate the driver from the vehicle.

Police say a mother mallard duck was mutilated at the Canby City Park by two male juveniles Thursday, who were skipping classes from Canby High School. The crime happened shortly after 9:00 AM.
Canby Police Detective Chris Mead says they were notified "of this horrific crime by another Canby High School student, who contacted the Canby Police School Resource Officer who is assigned at the school."
Canby Fire experienced just such an event in April of 2007 when a home being ventilated to remove excessive Natural Gas exploded with three firefighters inside.

It took emergency crews two hours to resolve a natural gas leak today in Canby. This is a community sensitive to this danger after a natural gas explosion last year that happened in a home occupied by Canby firefighters.
During this incident today at at 1470 SE 11th, one entire street-side was evacuated, four homes had electricity shut down, and one handicapped occupant and his caregiver had to relocated.
Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation and no enforcement action has been taken. It happened Friday at approximately 3:30 PM.
(CANBY, Ore.) - A Grande Ronde-area woman died Friday afternoon when the car she was driving crashed into the side of a semi-trailer pulled by a commercial truck turning across Highway 99E between Canby and Oregon City.

Canby Police responded to Canby Utility January 25th on the report of a subject impersonating one of their workers. Canby Utility reported they had received a call from a concerned customer who resides in the 300 block of South Knott Street, regarding a subject that stated he was a Canby Utility worker.
Canby Police say the subject asked the customer to enter the residence to check the water for high levels of Chlorine. The residents asked the subject for identification and he presented an ID card that showed an emblem that would possibly match the Canby Utility logo, but it was older looking.
