Former Oregon State QB Derek Anderson Staying in Cleveland

Anderson threw five TDs in his first start against Cincinnati and had the Browns in the playoff hunt until December.

(CLEVELAND) - Derek AndersonCleveland Browns quarterback Derek Anderson wasn't a free agent for long.

Anderson has agreed to a three-year, $26 million contract, including $14.5 million guaranteed, to stay with the Browns, reports NFL Network's Adam Schefter.

ESPN2 to Televise Oregon State - Stanford Football Season Opener

The Beavers begin on the field preparations for the 2008 season with the start of spring practice March 31.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - Bryan PaytonThe 2008 Oregon State football season opener Thurs., Aug. 28 will be televised by ESPN2, the network announced last week.

The announcement means the first two games of the season will be nationally televised as the Beavers Sept. 6 contest at Penn State will air on either ABC or ESPN.

The Beavers rallied in the bottom half of the fifth after second baseman Lonnie Lechelt hit a grounder to the third baseman who threw wide of second allowing him to reach safely and Ortiz to advance to third.

(LAS VEGAS) - kyle buschHometown hero Kyle Busch's lap of 29.613 seconds proved fast enough to win the pole position for the 2008 edition of Las Vegas Motor Speedway's UAW-Dodge 400.

The 22-year-old Busch, who was born and raised in Las Vegas, scored the third pole of his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series career during qualifying Friday afternoon under sunny skies.

(CLEVELAND) - Shaun RogersThe Cleveland Browns continued a busy free agency period Saturday, agreeing to terms to acquire defensive lineman Shaun Rogers from the Detroit Lions in exchange for the Browns' 2008 third-round pick and cornerback Leigh Bodden.

Rogers (6-feet-4, 345 pounds), who will enter his eighth NFL season this fall, is a two-time Pro Bowl selection out of Texas.

During 2007, he led the Lions with a career-high 7 sacks to go with 66 tackles.

Wolves Win Two More at CWU Invite

Western Oregon defeats Yellowjackets and Crusaders.

(RICHLAND, Wash.) - Western Oregon lashed out 25 hits in a pair of victories at the Clarion Hotel CWU Invitational, moving to 4-0 in the tournament and 5-1 on the season on Friday at the Columbia Playfields in Richland, Wash.

The Wolves defeated Montana State Billings 9-0 in the morning contest and then held off Northwest Nazarene 8-5 this afternoon. Western Oregon and Seattle University are the only undefeated teams in the field, and those two squads will square off on Saturday at 4:45 PM. WOU also plays Western Washington at 11:15 AM.
