The Suns built a 23-point lead against the Portland Trail Blazers, saw most of it slip away late, then held on for 97-92 victory Tuesday night. Amare Stoudemire scored 22 points for the Suns, who have struggled with adjusting to new center Shaquille O'Neal in the lineup.
Before the victory over the Blazers, the Suns had lost four of their last six and had surrendered the top spot of the Western Conference's Pacific Division to the Los Angeles Lakers.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Senior Travis Gardner (Portland, Ore.) and junior Kyle Bressler (Federal Way, Wash.) earned decisions in their championship matches at heavyweight and 197 pounds to win individual titles at the 2008 Pac-10 Championships, leading the Beavers to a third place finish with 106.0 points.
Oregon State will now send the three wrestlers, Larson, Gardner and Bressler, to St. Louis, Mo., for the 2008 NCAA Wrestling Championships held Mar. 20-22. Read Full Article

(MONMOUTH, Ore. ) - Brad Saindon, former head coach at Arizona State and Colorado, has been named the new leader of the Western Oregon University volleyball team, athletic director Jon Carey announced on Monday.
Saindon, who has built or re-built programs at nearly every level of volleyball, was the head coach at Arizona State for the past five seasons. He has also led programs at the University of Colorado and Regis College and has a collegiate record of 296-211.

Leunen scored 23 points and hit six of his seven 3-pointers in the second half for Oregon (16-12, 7-9 Pacific-10 Conference) in the 329th meeting between the schools, the most in college basketball.

(LAS VEGAS) - Carl Edwards' Sprint Cup victory in the UAW-Dodge 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will stand, but he's likely to lose some of the driver and owner points he earned after NASCAR officials found "an issue" with his No. 99 Ford in post-race inspection late Sunday.
