Pistons Crush Sixers to Even Series at 1-1

Detroit dominated from start to finish, leading Philadelphia for almost the entire game.

(DETROIT) - Richard HamiltonThe Pistons avenged their Game 1 loss to the Sixers on Sunday by routing the Sixers, 105-88, on Wednesday at the Palace at Auburn Hills.

The best-of-seven first-round series between the two teams is now tied at 1-1. Richard Hamilton scored a game-high 20 points while three Pistons chipped in with 16 apiece: Tayshaun Prince, Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess.

Kansas Hero Mario Chalmers Declares for NBA Draft

As KU's second-leading scorer, Chalmers led the Jayhawks in three-point percentage, minutes played and assists this season.

(LAWRENCE, Kan.) - Mario ChalmersUniversity of Kansas men's basketball junior Mario Chalmers officially declared for the NBA draft Wednesday afternoon, but will not hire an agent.

Chalmers, who hit the game-tying three-pointer to send the 2008 national championship game into overtime and was named the Final Four Most Outstanding Performer, can return to Kansas next season if he takes his name out of the draft.

Texas PG Augustin Headed for NBA Draft

The fifth player in UT history to earn consensus first-team All-America honors, Augustin has not hired an agent.

(AUSTIN, Texas ) - D.J. AugustinUniversity of Texas sophomore point guard D.J. Augustin intends to declare himself eligible for the 2008 NBA Draft, he announced today.

In 73 career games, Augustin averaged 16.9 points and 6.2 assists per contest. He ranks fifth on the school's career assists list, fourth in three-point percentage, ninth in free throw percentage and 18th in scoring.

NBC will continue to broadcast the NHL “Sunday Game of the Week” during the regular season, highlighted by flexible scheduling.

(NEW YORK) - NHL logoNBC Sports and the National Hockey League today announced that they have extended their partnership through the 2008-09 season with NBC exercising its option on the NHL.

Regular-season ratings for the NHL “Sunday Game of the Week” on NBC were up 11 percent over last year. In the key Men 18-49 demo coveted by advertisers, ratings increased by 33 percent.

The New Orleans Hornets took control of their first round series with a 127-103 blowout of the Dallas Mavericks.
