Texas A&M Latest Big-12 Team to Rout Nebraska

The Huskers (4-4, 1-3 Big 12) have been outscored 122-34 during their three-game losing streak to Missouri, Oklahoma State and A&M.

Texas A&M (6-2, 3-1 Big 12) won for the first time in six visits to Lincoln since 1955 and spoiled what Huskers fans hopes would be a day of celebration, welcoming back Osborne as interim athletic director.

Gordon Continues Hot Streak With Martinsville Pole

Martin Truex turned in his best qualifying effort ever at Martinsville, nailing down the second spot for Sunday's race.

(MARTINSVILLE, Va.) - Jeff GordonJeff Gordon continued his hot streak Friday afternoon, winning the pole for Sunday's Subway 500 NASCAR Nextel Cup race at Martinsville Speedway.

Gordon turned the historic half-mile track in 19.938 seconds (94.974 mph) for his sixth Martinsville pole and his 63rd career pole victory. Gordon has captured the past two NASCAR Nextel Cup races, two weeks ago at Talladega and last week at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

(MORAGA, Calif.) - Stephanie LopezUniversity of Portland senior defender Stephanie Lopez tallied an 83rd minute strike as the No. 6 Pilots women’s soccer team held off a pesky Saint Mary’s Gaels squad 1-0 Friday afternoon at Saint Mary’s Stadium.

The Pilots (10-3-0, 2-0-0 WCC) outshot the Gaels (6-6-2, 0-2-0) 13-2 in the match, but were held scoreless until Lopez netted her first goal of the season.

With its third straight win, Corban improves its overall record to 10-9 and moves to 8-5 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Rashelle DavenportJunior Rashelle Davenport recorded 19 kills and a match-high 37 digs, as Corban's women's volleyball team came back from a two-games-to-none deficit to defeat the Eagles of Northwest, 3-2 (27-30, 22-30, 30-20, 30-25, 15-13), on Friday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.

Along with Davenport, freshman Kristen Eiler and senior Ashley Lange added 15 and 14 kills respectively as junior Chelsea Reeher chipped in with 13 kills of her own.

Beavers Drop Civil War to No. 19 Oregon

Sophomore Sonja Newcombe led Oregon with 15 kills and 10 digs.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - oregon state volleyballSophomore Rachel Rourke had a team-high 15 kills, but the Beavers (9-12, 2-7 Pac-10) dropped a three-game match (23-30, 21-30, 20-30) to the No. 19 Oregon Ducks (15-6, 4-5 Pac-10) in the Civil War.

The Beavers got off to a slow start in game one letting the Ducks gain a 5-0 lead. Oregon State tied things up at 13-13 on Rourke’s fourth kill of the game and again at 14 all, but the Beavers were unable to take control of the game and capitalize on the Ducks’ six serving errors.

Pac-10 Women's Soccer: Oregon 1 - ASU 0

The Ducks got a much needed win to raise their record to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in the Pac-10.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Jessie ChatfieldJessie Chatfield made three diving saves in the second half to help Tiffany Smith’s goal stand up as the Ducks made a victorious return to Pape’ Field by defeating Arizona State 1-0 Friday night.

Smith scored the game’s only goal in the 37th minute, sliding through traffic on a rain-slicked Pape’ Field to redirect Jen Stoltenberg’s cross just past ASU goalkeeper Briana Silvestri.
