(FORT WORTH, Texas) -  Martin Truex Jr. earned his first career NASCAR Nextel Cup pole in 7-Eleven Qualifying Friday at Texas Motor Speedway for Sunday’s Dickies 500.
Truex Jr. paced “The Great American Speedway!” with a lap of 27.964 seconds at a speed of 193.105 miles per hour. Truex Jr. earned his first career Nextel Cup Series pole in his 79th career start. Read Full Article

Seven players hit double figures for the Hornets, who drained 11 3-pointers in a victory that wasn't in doubt from midway through the third quarter on.

(LOUDON, NH) -  Speedway Motorsports, Inc. has agreed to purchase New Hampshire International Speedway from Bob and Gary Bahre for $340 million in cash.
The speedway hosts the only NASCAR Nextel Cup Series, NASCAR Busch Series, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events held in the six-state New England region.

With a salary higher by multiples than any Dodgers manager in history, Torre will be charged with fulfilling owner Frank McCourt's promise to fans of championship baseball, which the franchise hasn't enjoyed since 1988.

Oregon State center Tiffany Ducker fell one rebound short of a double-double, finishing with 10 points and nine rebounds as well as two blocks. Freshman guard Talisa Rhea led the Beavers in scoring with 15 points in her collegiate debut.

Ellyce Ironmonger led all scorers with 21 points, while Ellie Manou brought down a game-high 15 rebounds (seven offensive), while scoring 10 points for the Ducks.
