Horizon Air Back at 90 Percent; Announces Modified Schedule

24 flights in and out of Portland International Airport are affected by cancellations today.

(SEATTLE) - To accommodate currently booked customers and those wishing to make future travel plans, Horizon Air has released a modified firm schedule that is expected to stay in effect Tuesday, September 18th, through Monday, September 24th.

The schedule, which brings Horizon's number of flights back up to 90 percent of normal, will allow the airline to complete the inspections of the Bombardier Aerospace Q400 turboprops in its fleet, as per Transport Canada and Bombardier specifications.

If you are booked on a Horizon flight between September 18th and 24th, within the new schedule, please check the table below, which lists the flights canceled during this period.

Even if you don't see your flight below, it's best to check your flight status ahead of time.

The aircraft inspections are in response to a Transport Canada airworthiness directive (AD) issued Sept. 12th.

Transport Canada's AD was produced in the wake of two landing gear failure incidents involving SAS-affiliated airlines in Europe.

Horizon, which has operated the Canadian-manufactured Q400 since 2001, has never experienced any issues like those SAS recently encountered.
