(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Investigators with the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office in Portland are hoping that someone in the public will come forward with information regarding the death of a local man whose remains were spotted and recovered over the past weekend.

On Friday September 10th, 2010 at approximately 8:00 a.m., the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office River Patrol responded to a report of a body floating in the Willamette River near the west end of the Sellwood Bridge.

Deputies recovered the body of 62-year-old Adron Daniel Asher of Southeast Portland from the river, according to a news release issued Sunday.

The investigation into the circumstances of Mr. Asher's death led Detectives to a residence in the 700 Block of Southeast Lexington Street where Asher had recently been staying.

At this point in the investigation, Detectives are asking for the public's help in detailing Asher's whereabouts over the last few days.

Anyone with information that can assist in this investigation is encouraged to call Portland Police Detective Erik Kammerer at (503) 823-0762.
