(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland Police say one man died early this morning at 2:50 a.m. in a single car accident in the 4500 Block of Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. Detective Mary Wheat with the Portland Police Bureau, says officers responding to the report arrived and found 24-year-old Ronald Earley injured at the scene. "Mr. Earley was immediately taken to an area hospital and died from his injuries this afternoon," Wheat said. However, due to the critical injuries Mr. Earley sustained, the Major Crash Team was called to investigate the accident. Investigators determined that Mr. Earley was driving eastbound when he hit a steel column. Investigators believe speed and alcohol were both factors in this accident. Mr. Earley was driving a Ford Ranger pickup at the time of the crash.
