A Republican Parable

Sarah Palin is a neophyte of the Far Right, eager to fight witches to prepare for becoming a Pentecostal-Pope one day, subject to the will of an Evangelical Holy See.

Palin's imprinted belief in the Super-natural extends even to a belief in witches.

(PASO ROBLES, Calif.) - A REPUBLICAN PARABLE

Sarah Palin has been on the political stump now all of seven weeks, arriving as a gift from heaven with few of the attributes of a seasoned politician, but possessed of charms that, if you aren’t sure what they are, you’re still likely to believe she has ‘em.

I believe Palin was not John McCain‘s choice as a running-mate, but that of his keepers. The Republican Far Right (its Passive Voice), is composed of Evangelicals and followers dedicated to returning America to the past when religion was all powerful in keeping with its presumed Word of God.

Mike Huckabee would, if he were able, re-write the Constitution to make it conform to the “will of the Living God,” Jesus, before he became Christ. Rod Parsley of Ohio, preaches it is God’s will that American-Christians destroy Islam, a usurper-religion created by Arabs to avoid being part of Christianity’s Church of One God for All Nations.

Palin‘s “white flag of surrender” refers less to Iraq, the intended base for further Middle East incursions by the U.S., than to Islam. Geo W. Bush is an Apostle of the Evangelical Movement of Holy War, and his Administration is geared to achieving its ends, which explains his reluctance to withdraw from Iraq. The work is just begun

Sarah Palin’s Pentecostal and fundamental beliefs meld conveniently with the Republican Passive Voice making her a suitable mouthpiece for the Far Right’s plan to use the Republican Party as its agent in pursuit of glory, Her imprinted belief in the Super-natural extends even to a belief in witches that makes it easy for her to attack Barack Obama’s character. The campaign has reverted to Middle Age tactics when the Church, by its Edict of Faith, insisted witches were real.

The blueprint for the Far Right’s conduct is the examples provided by The Book of Isaiah whose Prophecy, announcing Jesus’ coming “in less than a year,” made the manger-scene just one of many anomalous constructions to confound impressionable minds. The Gospels were written 60 to100 years after the fact by Christian-scribes doing as they were asked to do, using extreme metaphorical imaginations.

Isaiah admits he was taught to believe what he espoused. Sarah Palin’s rhetoric comes straight from the Republican Passive Voice. Both were/are worthy-bearers of the tales they tell to emphasize the chosen cause of their teachers. Evangelists are pretenders whose instances of chicanery are legion; people ought to know better, but choose instead to accept obediently and in silence what they are “given” to believe is true, but is not.

“Compassionate Conservative” is a term adopted by Republicans to give the impression they would rule as benevolent despots. Over the last eight years we have seen what despotism can do. Bush sacrificed some 4200 lives in his War-of-Choice in Iraq not counting the tens of thousand wounded, and he damaged America’s reputation abroad; he abused Constitutional Rights of citizens, failed in his responsibility to New Orleans and to the environment and weakened the economy, all in the false belief that “God’s in His heaven, all’s well with the world,“ Well, it is not By pretending God is in control, Bush and his deputies removed regulation that released the worst of human-nature to let the rich get richer [own more mansions than one can recall], and the poor get poorer. It is time for a change.

Sarah Palin is a neophyte of the Far Right, eager to fight witches to prepare for becoming a Pentecostal-Pope one day, subject to the will of an Evangelical Holy See. She believes U.S. troops are doing God’s work in Iraq and waxed poetic as a patriotic-Conservative when she accused Joe Biden, and Democrats, of “raising the white flag of surrender” in Iraq for wanting to withdraw to end the U.S. occupation..

Iraq considers itself competent to govern itself, and the first step toward renewed self-rule is for invasion-forces to leave its territory, Both Bush and McCain have said “if Iraq asks us to leave, we should leave;” Iraq has asked, so why the delay? Secretary of Defense Gates says, “the U.S. must accept that it will be in Iraq for years, even decades. Obviously, Bush and McCain have no intention or desire to withdraw from Iraq.

“Winning” means Iraq must submit to Bush’s rubric-demand of continued occupation which is at the root of Bush’s invasion of Iraq in the first place. The Far Right defines anything less as the equivalent of a shameful U.S. surrender, not against Iraq, but Islam. Bush’s successor could change the rules, but John McCain says he won’t!

Barack’s withdraw would leave the U.S. Embassy intact, let Iraq solve its internal problems in its own way, and use the billions in saving to bolster the U.S. economy. For, as all thinking Americans know, “Charity ought to begin at Home,”

Man’s brain elevated him from The Middle Age into The Age of Enlightenment releasing him from the desperation of his religious-experience to which Evangelists would return us in their desire for personal grandeur. I prefer Liberty-of-Thought to an imposed-conformity that runs contrary to common sense and to my own will.

Colin Powell is a dirtbag and he deserves a good kick in the azz. Not because he endorsed a political candidate,  because he went before the UN and the world and made the case for us going to war with Iraq. HE PUT OUR TROOP’S LIVES IN HARM’S WAY. When you put our soldiers lives on the line, you’d better be right. He was for it and then he was against it. We now have over 4,000 lives that have been lost because he supported us going to war.

He had plenty of information to make an informed decision. If he didn’t agree with the Bush administration, he should have said “no” or resigned. There is no way in hell I’d put our soldiers lives on the line unless I was absolutely sure of what I was doing. We now have soldiers in Iraq and he’s saying that it is wrong to be there. Nice support for our troops. He was a colossal failure as Secretary of State. I don’t give a damn what he has to say anymore. Too bad "Stormin' Norman" refused to continue in government service and chose to retire. He loved our troops more than any military leader and would have been a force that would have dominated Bush and his criminal cabal.

To all: New President is highly relevant to this thread. Here's "see with own eyes" on one highly important decider: Breaking News Alert The New York Times Sunday, October 19, 2008 -- 9:25 AM ET ----- Former Secretary of State Colin L. S-cini: You wrote:"...the primary responsibility for any business is to see that their shareholders are not exposed to irresponsible decisions that aversely impact them." That's M. Freidman doctrine followed by Chicago Boys in worldwide work with developing nations, now backfiring as "globalization" after decades of corporate raiding of globe. For ten years strongest trend in university management has long ago become corporate responsibilities beyond that 19th Century myth. See previous Op Eds in depth for details, links, and facts re changes in how to charter corporations to offset this great danger --now emphaisized by current credit crisis worldwide brought on by dereg. which is part of Friedmann myth.

S-cini: Check any standard history of media development, sir. Best at hand is The Creation of The Media:Political Origins of Modern Communication; Paul Starr;2004; ISBN 0-465-08193-2 Starr is Princeton professor of Sociology, joint founder of The American Prospect. This one won the Pulitzer. I keep it on my working station at all times, after early contact when Prospect first arrived. Naturally one doth not find direct reference to tv in the First Amendment since it was written by our Founders long before the digital age. My reference, cler to anyone with any working knowledge of the media in all formats, was to responsibilities imposed on all media via the protections given them via that famed First Amendment. One of the best-understood facts in any American history is the strong impact the First had on the development of communications which literally built the nation. Your ignorance shows, sir. Check out the point with any authority on journalism and/or the First Amendment, and then revise your understandings of the entire issue of

Could you point out that part of the Constitution where the television media is endowed with public responsibility to inform the public as per their interpretation? Possibly a court ruling? Television programs are constantly being removed and replaced because of poor ratings, and the primary responsibility for any business is to see that their shareholders are not exposed to irresponsible decisions that aversely impact them. Otherwise maybe Boston Blackie, What's My Line and Captain Midnight would still be on (new casts of course).

Henry Ruark October 17, 2008 1:48 pm (Pacific time)

S-cini: First Amendment ever since created has endowed public media with responsibilities to serve the public as well as stockholders or owners. Very creation and operation of all media depends on subsidy from government supply of essentials without which operation is impossible. For tv, that includes public owned channels, provided as means for operation by license, thus increasing the responsibility thus imposed doubly. SO profit is NOT the only criterion, nor is stock value at any time --if the owning corporation wishes to keep on using those public-owned natural channels of which there is unavoidable short supply. Hope your stock does better, which might alleviate your real worry and thus motivation here too.

Hardball still on the air? Rather small audience for those MSNBC programs, so if they are not making any money, I wonder why they keep them on? Seems to go against prudent business protocols especially when you have a fiduciary responsibility to your stockholders. I sold my G.E. stock (they own NBC) years ago, and glad I did.

Henry Ruark October 16, 2008 6:13 pm (Pacific time)

Todd et al: HARDBALL with Mathews tonight offered much more evidence of similar situations, couched in direct confrontation to McC. campaign staff. "See with own eyes" in re-run and forthcoming content coverage in other programs; leaving it untouched by any words here, for evaluation with your own mind.

The below quashes the media rumors. SCRANTON – The agent in charge of the Secret Service field office in Scranton said allegations that someone yelled “kill him” when presidential hopeful Barack Obama’s name was mentioned during Tuesday’s Sarah Palin rally are unfounded. The Scranton Times-Tribune first reported the alleged incident on its Web site Tuesday and then again in its print edition Wednesday. The first story, written by reporter David Singleton, appeared with allegations that while congressional candidate Chris Hackett was addressing the crowd and mentioned Obama’s name a man in the audience shouted “kill him.“ News organizations including ABC, The Associated Press, The Washington Monthly and MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann reported the claim, with most attributing the allegations to the Times-Tribune story. Agent Bill Slavoski said he was in the audience, along with an undisclosed number of additional secret service agents and other law enforcement officers and not one heard the comment. “I was baffled,” he said after reading the report in Wednesday’s Times-Tribune.

It seems the below voter fraud (see AP article) dwarfs the opinion one has of Gov. Palin who has the highest approval rating of all other governors. The Founding Fathers provided us with many freedoms, and over 80% of the Alaskan voters have no problem with Palin's ideological "leap of faith." I wonder what the approval rating is for the below Ohio Secretary of State? Appears the Federal Court system holds a dim view of her. Does fraud trump someones religious views? Views that are simply of a personal nature that have never been implemented into public policy, like the below fraud?

T.C.: Your quickie comment a bit unclear. If you intend '29 era allasame, different files and PDF's, still invite your ID to Editor for direct dialog. Your refusal of contac proves up repeated points made here.

Casey et al You wrote:"...what do you think pulled us out of the "depression". Obviously, by date, you refer clumsily to misguided"opinion" from neocon "economists" that it was War II, with huge costs for corporate production and other elements, which did the trick via enforced government funding, reinforcing an economy otherwise staggered. That is misleading, erroneous and distorted --no surprise with you. Space here prevents complete rebuttal; ID self to Editor for direct link, and I will share PDFs, file, other media destroying that false assumption you seek to plant here.

Tim Casey October 15, 2008 2:28 pm (Pacific time)

I certainly agree that "charity begins at home." So Ken what do you think pulled us out of the "depression", the one that began in 1929 (not the one Biden was confused about with FDR and the television)?
