(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland Police officers responded to the 4800 Block of Northeast 10th Avenue today on a call of a shooting that had just happened. Portland Police Detective Mary Wheat, says law enforcement rolled onto the scene at approximately 3:40 p.m. "When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old man that was suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to an area hospital and is undergoing surgery." Wheat says the shooting victim was outside of a residence in the front yard when he was shot. She says detectives do not believe the victim lives at this residence. Wheat added, "The Gang Enforcement Team responded to the scene to investigate this shooting due to the possible involvement of gang activity. No one is currently in custody for this shooting and detectives are following up on all leads." No additional information was available at this time.
