Doctors from Oregon make the case for Health Reform

Doctors for America Takes Message to the White House.

Doctors for America

(WASHINGTON D.C.) - Because actions speak louder than words, Doctors for America, took their message directly to the White House today - sending physicians from each of the fifty states, including Oregon, to advocate for meaningful health reform this year.

In the Rose Garden with President Obama this morning, the doctors stood together representing the voices of their fellow physicians and patients in their home state who desperately need health care reform.

“Any elected official from Oregon who has said they have not heard from a doctor in their state who supports health care was proven wrong today,” said Doctors for America’s Executive Director, Dr. Mandy Krauthamer.

“The urgent need for health reform cannot be overstated. These physicians from around the country have take time away from their families and their practices to come to Washington to advocate for passage of comprehensive health reform this year. As physicians, we know that this is the right thing our patients, our profession and our nation.”

“Our health care system is broken. I am fighting for reform, because it is my calling as a doctor to promote wellness and healing. It is my instinct as a human being to fight for justice. Our current system does not support either wellness or justice. Our current system is sick. It rewards over-spending and reactionary behavior on both the part of the provider and the health care seeker. I believe we can create a responsible system that provides universal coverage with a focus on preventive care,” said Dr. Anita Henderson of Bend.

Today’s event at the White House is just one way Doctors for America is working to amplify physicians’ voices. Through the “Voices of Physicians” campaign and the online action center, Doctors for America has encouraged and empowered its members to speak up for passing meaningful health reform this year.

Doctors for America is a grassroots group of over 15,000 physicians in all fifty states committed to passing meaningful health reform legislation. The group works to convey the ideas and experiences of physicians in order to achieve reform that provides high quality, affordable healthcare for all Americans.

helen waite: glen fooled me for a short time also. For about 4 months about 2 years ago. He is just another bought and paid for tv personality. Giving just enough truth, to continue the lies. Mike, and the author of this article. Yes, I think we ALL know we need health care reform. What KIND of health care reform is the question. My opinion, is government should stay out of it. I think they have made enough of a mess out of everything they touched already. And PLEASE, dont write me about how good your medicare/medical is, it was all provided on a credit card, and the payments are due now, and the only way to pay is print money. Hope you enjoyed your benefits.

WASHINGTON-AP - Doctors are rallying together in protest of the president's plan for health care reform Thursday night, less than 24 hours after he laid out his plan. "Doctors for Patient Care" is a grassroots organization that's fired up over the president's health care plan. These doctors say it's critical that they make the medical decisions and fear Obama's plan would have the government stepping in. Gathered on the National Mall Thursday, a group of doctors and their supporters waved signs and spoke out against the president's health care plan. They say they support health care reform but definitely not the plan announced Wednesday night which includes a public option.

Poll after poll shows that the vast majority of all MD's want nothing to do with the "public option" because these trained observers and business owners realize that it would evolve into a single payer system that would mean not only long waits but rationing and a complete shut down of creating new medicines and diagnostic equipment because there would be no profit incentives. You would have DMV health care. Update your knowledge like I did. Like Johnny Caspar in Miller’s Crossing, when I’m wrong I don’t like being reminded of the fact. Yet askew I was six months ago concerning Glenn Beck. My first impression of the host of the blockbuster Fox News program that bears his name was that, despite its obvious content value, Beck’s hyper-emotive, overly familiar style made it unfit for long-term consumption. I believed this for the same reasons I get the heebie-jeebies from Oprah or the prospects of repeating kindergarten, but wrong is wrong. I hereby offer up an article of contrition. Not only has Mr. Beck grown on me; I also acknowledge that he is one of the finest warriors in all of conservadom. So let us rally around our — suddenly famous — flag bearer.  And rally we must because the left has placed him at the center of their character assassination machine. This is predictable as what else could they do with a sixty-minute, five-day-a-week program that functions as a siege engine upon the castle of pseudo-liberalism, addressing corruption, the follies of statism, government chicanery, and the disinterest of politicians in the welfare of their constituents?...

Editor: You might be able to get some good deals on Nazi uniforms from some of those Hollywood movie supply companies.  Get your buddy Glenn the black one with the SS symbols on the collars.
