Oregon State Wrestling Stays Steady At 13th In NWCA Top 25

(Corvallis, Oregon) - Days after the Oregon State wrestling team defeated Simon Fraser, the Beavers found themselves steady at 13th in the NWCA/USA Today Division I Coaches Poll. It marks the first week this season in which the Beavers find themselves at the same spot for consecutive weeks.

The Beavers downed Simon Fraser, 49-0, on Saturday and are receiving 144 votes in the ranking, just two behind No. 12 Lehigh and five behind No. 11 Central Michigan. OSU is one of three Pacific-10 Conference teams in the top 25, joining No. 6 Boise State and No. 22 Arizona State. Cal Poly is receiving votes.

Oregon State made some movement in other top 25 polls. The Beavers find themselves at No. 10 The Open Mat’s top 25, up a spot from a week ago. They are also 13th in D1CollegeWrestling’s rankings, up eight spots from a week ago.

Oregon State heads to the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational on Friday and Saturday, where the Beavers will compete at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Other teams competing at the invitational include No. 1 Cornell, No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 6 Boise State, No. 8 Oklahoma, No. 9 Illinois and No. 10 Virginia Tech.
