Salem Police Investigate Shooting

(Salem, Oregon) - Today at 5:11 am Salem Police Officers responded to a report of several gunshots directed at a residence in the 2200 block of 4th St. NE. Responding officers contacted the residences and found one adult female had received a non-life threatening gunshot wound from one of the bullets that had been fired into the residence. The female was taken to Salem Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Officers conducted an area search for the suspect, but was not located. Detectives responded and will be continuing the investigation.

A person of interest involved in the shooting has been identified, but Detectives are not releasing any information about them at this point due to the on-going investigation.

The person of interest may be known to residents of the home. This incident does not appear to be a random, stranger-to-stranger type incident at this time.
