(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) - Concordia (Ore.) earned 21 of the 22 possible first-place votes for 622 points and its seventh-straight week atop the rankings in the latest edition of the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25, the national office announced Tuesday. Consistency reigned supreme this week, as the top-18 teams remained in the same position from the previous poll. Top-ranked Concordia (17-0-2) punched its ticket to the title game of the Cascade Collegiate Conference Tournament by netting a pair of goals in each half en route to a 4-0 shutout of College of Idaho on Oct. 6. The Cavaliers will host second-seeded Corban (Ore.) (16-3) Saturday for the championship. Concordia defeated the Warriors 2-1 in the regular-season meeting on Oct. 9. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Delta Park. Lee, the SSAC’s No. 1-seed in the East Division, opened the league tournament against Faulkner (Ala.) and cruised to 5-1 victory on Oct. 6. The Lady Flames will take their 16-2 record into a semifinal match with Auburn Montgomery (12-6), the West Division’s third seed, on Thursday. It will be the first meeting this season between the two teams. No. 3 Azusa Pacific (15-1-2) will have a chance to avenge its only loss of the campaign, facing ninth-ranked California Baptist (13-4-2) GSAC championship match on Friday. The tournament’s top-seeded Cougars have shut out both of their tournament opponents, eighth-seeded Fresno Pacific (Calif.) 3-0 and fourth-seeded Concordia 2-0. Azusa Pacific will look to carry its momentum into a payback match with the Lancers for the 2-1 loss that was suffered on Oct. 16. The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, independents and unaffiliated groups. The final poll for the 2010 season will be released Sunday by 12 p.m. CST, following the completion of the conference/independent/unaffiliated tournaments.
