Washington County Man Life Flighted After Driving Into a Tree (PHOTOS)

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the accident.

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Washington County Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident Sunday on NW Dairy Creek Road at NW Three Cedars Road. Sgt. Vance Stimler with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, says the vehicle left the road and hit a tree causing extensive damage and injuring the driver.

30-year old David Law of Washington County, was transported by Life Flight to OHSU with life threatening injuries.

Stimler says the crash happend at 8:30 a.m. on NW Dairy Creek Road, in rural, unincorporated Washington County.

"Upon arrival, they found a single vehicle accident. The driver, David Law, left the road and hit head-on into a large tree," Stimler said.

"The truck, a 2006, Chevy pick-up sustained extensive damage. Mr. Law had to be extricated from the vehicle by the fire department. He was then transported by Life Flight to OHSU."

Stimler says that as of early this afternoon, he is listed as being in serious condition.

Through the investigation, Washington County deputies learned the crash might have occurred as early as 3:20 a.m. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the accident.
