(ESTACADA, Ore.) - Clackamas investigators have released more information on this morning's fatal automobile crash on Redland Road in Estacada. The driver who died was 40-year old Kimberly Kay Erwin, who resided with her husband and two daughters in Eagle Creek. Jim Strovink with the Clackamas Sheriff's Office, says Mrs. Erwin's 2003 Mustang GT entered the intersection of South Redland Road from South Clear Creek in Estacada when it was struck by another vehicle, causing the fatal crash. At the time of the crash, Kimberly Erwin was transporting her husband 51-year old Michael Erwin and her two daughters, 16-year old Kayla Erwin and 14-year old Kiera Erwin. Strovink says investigators have also learned that Kimberly Erwin was driving the Mustang so that the family could attend the funeral of Michael Erwin's deceased father in Oregon City. "All three surviving Erwin family members were transported with non-life threatening injuries to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland," he added. The second vehicle involved in the crash was driven by 22-year old Andrew Altman of Oregon City. Andrew Altman was reportedly proceeding at the legal speed limit on South Redland Road and collided broadside with the Erwin vehicle as it entered the intersection. Andrew Altman was driving a 1999 Ford F-350 pickup truck, and was hauling a large piece of excavating equipment in an accompanying trailer. Altman was transported with non-life threatening injuries from the scene to a local hospital. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Crash Reconstruction and Forensic Technician responded to the crash scene, and continue to investigate this fatal crash.
