Documentary Film, The War Around Us Showing May 14 in Eugene

May 15 is observed as an annual day of mourning by Palestinians worldwide, a commemoration of the Nakba, the 1948 ethnic cleansing of 3/4 million Palestinians.

"The War Around Us" was filmed during Operation Cast Lead in Gaza in 2008-09 by Al Jazeera reporters.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - These people were taken from their homes and communities by Zionist terrorism, never to be allowed to return.

In solidarity with the annual observance the Nakba, Al Nakba Awareness Project will show the film, "The War Around Us" in Eugene, Oregon on May 14th on the Nakba that remains ongoing.

Filmed during Operation Cast Lead in Gaza in 2008-09, the Al Jazeera reporters who assembled this footage were the only journalists there to witness and record the facts for the world.

This was the first time reporting on an Israeli attack and its effects was not controlled by the Western press.
